Yall are going to look at me like I'm crazy but if you believe in the MANDELA EFFECT, I have a short story for you or make that two short stories. I was in 5th grade in (1998) and I was looking at a globe in Mrs. Akins classroom and as I was looking at the globe I saw the year 1991 on it, and I was looking at the USSR and countries around it. then I looked at Japan and Japan had half of Sakhalin, all of Korea, and all of Kamchatka. I was confused on Sakhalin because it was split in half, so I ask Mrs. Akin who owns this piece of land, one part was colored orange and one was purple, she said Russia owns one half and Japans owns the southern half, my questions didn't stop there. Next I ask what does USSR mean and she said The Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics but now it's new name is Russia which is it's old name. I said oh ok.... Next I ask her about Japan, (before I get started, this is the teacher who taught me how to read but I won't get into to that today, back to the story) What does this say by Japan, she replied The Dominion of Japan- all that was colored in purple which were, all of Korea which was in a totally different spot, Korea was north west of Japan, Kamchatka, South Sakhalin, the northern Territories. Korea said Korea but it was part of Japan. I ask, Why does this say Korea but it's Japan and Mrs. Akin told me Japan took over Korea (centuries ago) .......... So they own Korea, so Korea was not a country, just a province of Japan. I will cut the story here and say, what the heck was she telling me, but I remember the map very vividly she wasn't lying but now nothing matches. I remember the Vietnam war but the Korean war never happened. Vietnam was two countries north and south. except the communist were in the south, and we were trying to free the north from the south. Communism ended in China in like 1994 I was only 7 years old when I saw the fall of communism in China, I remember it very vividly.
@mingmuyiyang8615

First of all, let me point out that what you said is a bunch of nonsense. In the process of resisting Japanese aggression, China suffered over 35 million military and civilian casualties, while Japanese soldiers suffered over 1.3 million casualties. Do you know why there is such a large proportion of casualties? There are two reasons: Firstly, Japanese soldiers kill every person they see, regardless of the civilian population. Men, women, old and young, kill every person they see. Secondly, Chinese soldiers are facing a shortage of supplies on the battlefield, often with a company of over a hundred people and only over thirty firearms. Chinese soldiers often use large knives, wooden sticks, and steel forks to fight against the Japanese army on the battlefield. Do you know why Japan wanted the Nanjing Massacre? It's just to scare all the Chinese people. But the indomitable Chinese people have always been fighting to the death, not surrendering or retreating. Do you know the thoughts of ordinary Chinese people? We look forward to the Second Sino Japanese War.

Without those islands, it becomes impossible for much of the year for Russia to send ships to its submarine base on Kamchatka. That would make make that base economically untenable, because supplies would have to be flown in at huge expense by airplane. The effect would be to kill off Russia’s presence in the open Pacific. If the war in Ukraine drags out long enough, Russia could end up weak enough that the Japanese could basically just stroll in and take over those disputed Kuril islands. If that happens, that will make Japan and the USA the big winners of the war in Ukraine. The US would be deliriously happy to see Russia get booted out of the open Pacific and locked behind the First Island Chain.

Then you should look up where the US has military bases vs where China’s bases are sited. Finally, you need to research the “tyranny of distance” in light of the geography of China’s critical logistical trade lifelines and the US vs China’s base locations.
@Peizxcv
@Peizxcv Год назад
@@yopyop3241 You do know the Soviet and then Russia and China already built pipeline to transport those oil right? You really think you thought of something they didn’t realize for decades? China not only have the most robust pipelines to transport western and Siberian oil to the east, China also have the biggest and most robust power grid to transport renewable power from west to east. More than half the world’s HVDC links are in China and needless to say China is also the biggest generator of renewable energy
@yopyop3241
@yopyop3241 Год назад
@@Peizxcv Pipelines from Russia and Central Asia to China are dinky little things compared to China’s needs. Design capacity of less than 5% of China’s needs. You’ll also note that they were invariably built by Western companies like BP, Exxon, and RDS that developed their expertise in locations like Alaska and the North Sea. The Russians and Central Asians have not proven to be capable of maintaining anywhere close to the design capacity of those Siberia-to-China pipelines on a consistent basis. Apparently, Russia’s ability to develop and maintain pipeline infrastructure has fallen off a cliff since the breakup of the USSR. You might be tempted to point out that Russia’s big pipelines were built without much technical experience. Russia’s big pipelines were constructed more than sixty years ago on a figure-it-out-along-the-way basis. The main tool was brute force. In theory, they could do the same now. However, Russia used massive quantities of what was essentially slave labor that was provided by the gulag system to get those pipelines built. No one knows how many died, but it was undoubtedly many millions. Russia doesn’t have the ability to press millions and millions of Ukrainians, Poles, Kazakhs, Lithuanians, etc. into forced labor camps anymore. I guess China could provide the numbers, but with Chinese young people refusing to take blue collar jobs in China, I think forcing Chinese young people into Russian slave labor work camps in Siberia would probably be untenable. Renewable energy is good for what it is, but oil is often called “the lifeblood of the modern industrialized economy” for very good reasons. The Arab Oil Embargo was an extremely traumatic economic event for the US back in the 1970s. Researchers peg the magnitude of disruption to US oil supplies at less than 5%. Compare that 5% number to what we are discussing for China here. Cutting China’s maritime oil import lifelines would cut China off from around 75% of the oil it needs.

But a number of Kenyans and Nigerians went along with the white message that china was exploiting just like they went along when white graciously demanded china waive loans to Africa despite the fact that African nations turned a profit on chinese development moving that revenue to British Bank accounts. Thats not golden rule. Thats proving to white that certain Africans only mind slavery and exploitation as the victims but not as perpetrators themselves; in effect, black Africa handed white enslaved the receipt that its not racism but opportunity that given the opportunity, black will do to chinese what white did to black. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Xaj2meL0r8o.html Phil did the same. That's how everything, everywhere, all at once won 7 oscars when Till wasn't even nominated. Black has been killing asians since 1958 as badly as Emmett till was beaten to death. No outrage. Thousands people joined a demonstration in Okinawa's prefectural capital on Feb. 26 to protest the Japanese government's plans to build up its defense capabilities on a group of islands in the country's south for a possible contingency in Taiwan. The national government is moving forward with plans to bolster the Self-Defense Forces (SDF) and deploy missiles on the Nansei Islands including Okinawa amid concerns of contingencies. Participants in the demonstration in Naha voiced opposition, with one saying, "I want the government to hold thorough dialogue to ease tensions with the neighboring country." The group's 69-year-old executive committee chairperson Takamatsu Gushiken, who has worked for many years to recover the remains of those who perished in the Battle of Okinawa toward the end of the Pacific War, told the rally, "Militarization is being pushed forward at such a speed that it does not leave leeway for the people of Okinawa to think. We must not resort to shelters or evacuation, but choose to stop Okinawa from becoming a battlefield." Hiromori Shimoji, cohead of a resident group opposing the deployment of missiles on Miyako Island, which hosts a missile unit, commented, "The GSDF camp is in an area close to residential homes, and the ammunition depot is also near the community. If something happens, residents would not be able to survive it." After the gathering, participants marched through the streets of Naha while holding signs reading, "Don't make the islands into battlefields!" and "No more military bases."

The Cabinet Office has tracked the public’s thoughts on the SDF’s every three years since 1969. The latest poll was undertaken from November 17 through December 25 last year to figure out the Japanese public’s views on the SDF and defense issues. Of the 3,000 adults aged 18 and older targeted in the mail survey, 1,602 people, or 53.4 percent, responded. Regarding the size of the SDF, 53 percent said that the current level is fine, while 41.5 percent said that it should be reinforced. The latter is the highest figure since the government began asking that specific question in 1991, though the polling method has changed. The percentage of respondents who replied that the size should be expanded increased by more than 10 percentage points, from 29.1 percent giving the same response in the previous survey conducted in January 2018.

As a Chinese Malaysian, I grew up on stories from my parents and grandparents on the brutal invasion and occupation of Malaya during WWII by the Japanese. My father was witness to weekly decapitations in the local marketplace of any Malayans that the Japanese soldiers thought were not respectful of them. It could be something as simple as not bowing quick or low enough to them when they passed by. And we are not even talking of those Malayans that actually resisted them. Further, as Chinese Malayans, we were singled out for especially brutal and barbaric treatment due the support we gave to China during the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) that predated their invasion of Malaya. That is why, I and probably many others from countries that suffered under the brutality and barbarism of the Japanese during WWII, do not welcome the rearming of Japan. Remember during WW1, Japan was part of the Allied powers and fought on the side of the Americans and British against the Germans in Asia, where the Japanese Empire seized German possessions in the Pacific and East Asia. Yet, only two decades later, they were at war against the Americans and British, and invaded and conquered their colonies in Asia. Who is to say that in another two decades time, Japan would not become a militaristic nation again with desires of conquest in Asia? British historian Mark Felton claims that up to 30 million people were killed, most of them civilians: "The Japanese murdered 30 million civilians while "liberating" what it called the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere from colonial rule. About 23 million of these were ethnic Chinese. It is a crime that in sheer numbers is far greater than the Nazi Holocaust. In Germany, Holocaust denial is a crime. In Japan, it is government policy." Yet, all you hear in the West is the Jewish holocaust where only 6 millions Jews were murdered by the Nazis. You hardly if ever hear any discussion about the staggering numbers of ethnic Chinese killed in China and South East Asia.

The USA and its Western allies have escalated conflicts in various aspects in various regions. Their approach is militaristic expansion around the world (hundreds of military bases surrounding various countries), pit one against the other (both internally and between countries), encourage the escalation of conflicts to wars and destructions (while making huge profits from it), for their unilateral interests, domination and hegemony. The suffering of millions of people, the destruction of the countries of their victims around the world is an undeniable fact -- indirectly, by proxy, or direct military invasion. They are none other than the heirs of the sophisticated "European colonialism and imperialism." Now they are focusing on Asia Pacific after the destruction of the Middle East. Cursed be them as warmonger and may woe to them.

From my understanding and internationally recognized laws those islands belonged to Japan but also long before 1938. The Chinese never administered or better to say controlled those islands not for hundreds of years. Matter a fact, they only started making claims after they started the massive military build up which included the militarized man made islands in the SCS or one example is Mischief Reef in the WPS. That island belonged to Phillipines and is within Phillipino territory. China's territory ends far before. China is a signatore of UNCLOS but decided to disregard the international agreement after growing military power. It is a similar situation except with the Phillipines case China lost a Hague rulling in 2016 but again disregarded the ruling. Xi ping himself promises never to militarize those islands. Fortunetly, legally, China has no basis or claim to stand on but unfortunetly they decided that power is the deciding factor. That is why the 9 dash line and military build up is destabalizing the region. China has had disputes and incidents with Vietnam, Singapore, Phillipines, Malaysia, Japan and others. The common demoninator in all these provocations is China or better put the CCP. They have also armed hundreds of militia boats that overfish but also act as threats in the region. If China wants to be repected they must learn to respect international law and honor the agreements they sign.

No need to misunderstand. I also condemn China's greed for one-sided claims based on a misunderstanding (read: stupidity + greed) of the map-copy United Kingdom Hydrographic Office in 1906 entitled 'China Sea Directory Volume 1 and 2', as well as from the 'Asiatic Archipelago' published by Edward Stanford Ltd of London, 1918, which was wrong translated, which causes a shallow sea has been mistranslated as an island. The island that never existed before was considered as a boundary. (1933) This misunderstanding, this stupidity and greed, started with the Kuomintang Government led by Chiangkaisek (whose successor to this government is based in Taiwan, to this day -- after his defeat in Mainland China), who founded the 'Land and Sea Mapping Committee,' then two years later, the 'Chinese and English Table of All Islands and Reefs in the South China Sea' was published. (1935) 'The Map of China,' a product of the Mapping Committee, was published; However, the map contained errors in translation and transliteration from English to Chinese; The result is fatal: islands appear that do not exist in the real world; 'Shoal' or 'bank' is a shallow bank that does not rise to the surface, supposedly, 'shoal' is translated as 'qiantan', but the Chinese Committee translates it into 'tan' which means 'sand-blown' or 'sand that arises above sea level.' (1936) The nationalist, founder of 'the Journal of Earth Sciences' of Beijing Normal University (Beishida), Bai Meichu, founded the China Geographic Society; This Bai Meichu became the central figure of the designer of the '9 Dotted Lines'; It was this person who at first helped 'harden' the misunderstanding; And this is the first time an image appears that has never been on a map of China before; Bai Meichu drew 'James Shoal' and 'Vanguard Bank' as sand islands, she also drew 'Macclesfield Bank' as an islands. That fck'in stupidity, phew! The choice to designate 'James Shoal' as the southernmost boundary and the inclusion of 'Vanguard Bank' have resulted in tremendous error; 'James Shaol' and 'Vanguard Bank' have the 'Spratly Islands' under China's territorial claims. Next, is the 'advanced hardening' of the claim based on that error and stupidity; Two of Bai Meichu's students named Fu Jiaojin and Zheng Ziyue then worked for the Chinese government; Zheng Ziyue was commissioned by the Governor of Taiwan to make a map of the South China Sea in 1946, which included The Prata (Dongsha), Paracel (Xisha), and Spratly Islands are administrative areas of Taiwan. Zheng Ziyue then still refers to this stupidity, to Bai Meichu's work to make a new map. This error situation is then 'hardened' again in September 25th 1946, at a meeting at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of China; Here included incidents US aid warship (USS Decker), owned by United States Navy (the aid ship expected by the USA to fight the Chinese Revolutionary Communists) used by Republican government China to plant a flag in the Paracels and Spratlys. 1948, the Republic of China published an 'Atlas of Administrative Areas' equipped with a 'U-shaped line drawing' in the South China Sea. This 'unilateral claim' based on 'error and stupidity', even though China also signed UNCLOS, which was inherited by the Chinese Government today. (See further at: Bill Hayton -- an expert from Chatam House, The Royal Institute of International Affairs, in the work entitled 'The Modern Origins of China's South China Sea Claims: Maps, Misunderstandings, and the Maritime Geobody'). See, in the end this is nothing but a story of USA meddling in other people's domestic affairs. Despite that there in essence was the stupidity of the Chinese Government (whose successor is in today's Taiwan), which then bequeathed to the Communist Government (Democratic Socialists? Socialist Capitalism? Don't know the tittle of 'the song,' fu#k it all as long as it's not bad and harm others). I say this just to put the full perspective in, because you suddenly put the emphasis there. Again, without making a statement my comments are irrelevant to behavior The USA and its Western allies around the world, including the escalation of the conflict which is now being pushed forward and focused on the Asia Pacific region, whatever the reasons are; Including competition for 'economic domination' and 'geopolitical hegemony,' economic wars, banning Huawei, chip embargoes, etc. Let the Dogs fight over the carcass of this world. Tch! ASEAN countries have agreed and compactly reject unilateral claims, violating UNCLOS, especially based on claims of error and stupidity, forever. As far as possible, in civilized ways and negotiations to reach a common understanding. Regardless of the USA's efforts to perceive China as a threat to US interests and hegemony then see it as are simply enemies, then carry out advanced militaristic actions in movements to sharpen the conflict towards hostility and war, which are characteristic of the USA and its Western allies, which must be discerned and distinguished as separate interests, desires, and separate action. ☕🙃

Japan was the aggressor in the 2nd World War and has yet to admit its crimes and misdeeds ...the victims are China ,and Koreas and other Asian countries . To build up its military forces again to provoke its victims as a reason for tension is strange ...and to be a lapdog ..to US ....and US is seeking wars everywhere.( for US which had bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima ) ..is indeed unexpected . China too has nuclear weapons now ..can China be the new master ? Besides China has said it will never use it against peace loving nations ..unless Japan is still a war mongering nation.

Maybe it is China that is now trying to emulate World War 2 Japan. Japan and South Korea is now reacting to China's own military build-up, and perhaps that is the lesson learnt (when your neighbours are preparing for war, then you too should probably be preparing)

Shut off.. If Japan wants it can build nuclear weapons in under 2 years. Stop comparing copycat china with the imperial Japan where sun rises first

Lol. If mainland refuses to take Taiwan, won't japan feel the need, the CRAVING to return Taiwan to the empire? What if CHINA still refuses to expend anything on folding in the tea leaf? Taiwan has made it very clear it prefers Japan. Chiling even married Akira. usa will have to enjoy this lovely marriage of usa tech and weapons as dowry.
