Our eighth day in Tokyo began with a quest for the city's famous Fuwa Fuwa pancakes at Pancake House Oripan Dining. While the pancakes were just medium in quality, the experience set the tone for a day filled with urban exploration.
After breakfast, we took a leisurely stroll around Tokyo, soaking in the city's dynamic atmosphere before heading back to our hotel for some downtime. Recharged, we ventured out to the famed Golden Gai. Although we didn't stop at any bars or restaurants, the walk through this iconic district was fascinating.
From Golden Gai, our journey took us to Omoide Yokocho, another charming spot known for its narrow alleys and bustling nightlife, followed by a sighting of the famous 3D Shinjuku cat-a must-see for any visitor.
The highlight of our day was a trip to Super Potato in Ikebukuro, where nostalgia hit hard as I played Street Fighter 2, the first game I ever experienced on a gaming console at age three.
We capped off the evening with a visit to an incredible soba restaurant, Tokyo Aburagumi Sohonten Nishi-Shinjuku, affectionately known as Abura Soba. The soba was so good that we ended up visiting it three times during our trip.
