Japan in 8K -Winter in Shiretoko-世界自然遺産:北海道知床半島 

Shiretoko Peninsula is located on the eastern side of Hokkaido and was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. Shiretoko is the southernmost location at which sea ice is regularly formed. Shiretoko Peninsula is covered with primeval forest and rich in wildlife such as the Yezo sika deer, Steller sea lion, and the brown bear.
The film was shot in 2020/2021 in collaboration with the Shiretoko Nature Foundation with permissions from various government agencies.
北海道東部に位置する知床半島。その独特の生態系から2005年に世界自然遺産に登録された。知床半島には手付かずの原生林が残され、ヒグマやエゾシカなど大型哺乳類が高密度で生息している。冬にはオホーツク海から流氷が流れ着き、雄大な景色が広がる。
