I have worked cleaning hotels and hostels and on behalf of everyone who's had to do that kind of work, I THANK YOU for cleaning up after yourself before leaving. Yes, it's not needed, but us cleaners really appreciate it. Far too often there are guests who do the exact opposite; leaving huge messes because they know someone will come and clean up after them (trust me, you don't want to know the things I've seen people leave behind in rooms). Japanese people in general are really good at cleaning up after themselves though. In every hotel/hostel I've worked, we could always tell if the guest that stayed in the room was Japanese or not because they'd almost always clean up after themselves (and I don't mean just putting away the trash but really clean up after themselves and make the beds). I remember one instance especially where the guests had done such a good job cleaning up after themselves that me and the manager were standing around trying to figure out if we were in the right room (to clean) or not, haha. Lastly, I have to go see that mochi-pounding show! I recognize those guys from other videos but I didn't know where they were located. That performance (when he hits it with his hands) always makes me really anxious, but at the same time, it's fun to watch. I wonder how many times he's been accidentally hit with that mallet, haha. They're great entertainers.

A lot of people think that, because you're getting paid to clean, they should be allowed to leave things as dirty/messy as they want. And, yes, that is the cleaning staff's job, but I also don't believe in making someone's job harder than it has to be. We don't get the choice over being born and forced to work and pay to exist. It's not like people are choosing to do those jobs because they enjoy it (I'm sure some weirdos do enjoy cleaning, and I'm envious of them for that, but most don't), they're doing it because they need money to survive and are looked down on if they don't work. Just exiting is hard enough for most people, especially lower income people. I don't agree with forcing people to work as it is, but until we eliminate money and our dependence on it, people who aren't rich (let's face it, rich people have other people to do the actual work for them while they take most of the money the workers bring in) will have to work. The people who have to work usually have the poorest quality of life, so I want to make life easier for them in any way I can, even if it's just by cleaning up after myself. I'm too poor to travel or stay at hotels anyway, but if I could do so, I would try to leave the room in as nice a state as possible.

This confirms that you do not change the bedding, which is disgusting. It would not help you even a tiny bit for them to make the bed if you were going to remove the linen and wash it. That is the reason that I often do the opposite -- I pull the bedding and leave it in a pile on the bed, so that the staff can skip some of the removal process. (With the assumption that they will actually be replacing the linens and blankets.)
@NekoArts
@NekoArts 9 месяцев назад
@@runvnc208 I wasn’t just talking about making the beds, I was talking about the room in general. I have been cleaning rooms where there is food, blood or literal shit smeared on the walls and trash thrown on the floor. That was what I was thinking about when I wrote my comment, not just the sheets. The sheets and bedding is just a small part of what we have to clean when we prepare a room for a guest. Yes, pulling the sheets off is more helpful than making the bed (although anyone cleaning might wonder why you pulled the sheets in the first place and think that you’ve soiled them in some way - nothing against you, it’s just usually the only reason why guests pull their own sheets), but it’s still a nice gesture to walk into a room as a cleaner and see that the bed is made, even if it technically doesn’t help us in any way. We will pull the sheets off and make the bed anyway. I’m sure there are places where they don’t, but we have in every place I have worked at. And a nice tidy room saves us an awful lot of time - something we usually don’t have a lot of when we have to clean and prepare X number of rooms/beds before check-in starts. That said, it’s incredibly wasteful to clean a bed that hasn’t been touched or slept in. When you clean a hostel dorm for example, it’s not entirely uncommon for guests to choose to stay in a different bed than what has been assigned to them and it’s on us, the cleaners, to try and figure out which bed needs cleaning when that happens. (That was the situation I mentioned in my previous comment; not a private room but a bed in a dorm.) Many times we don’t have either the time or resources to change all the beds in an entire dorm just to be sure that we clean the right one if a guest had decided to change his or her bed. The same if a guest decides to go and grab sheets from a different bed because they want an extra pillow or blanket. My point was that it’s a really nice gesture of a guest to clean the room and make the bed and it puts a smile on our face even if the bed-making itself technically doesn’t do much to help us. Generally, the people who do take the time to make the bed will also take the time to collect any trash and leave the room in a clean and tidy shape which is really helpful. If you had to clean a hotel or hostel room you’d know what I meant by my comment and you wouldn’t be so quick to assume the worst. That said, thank you too for pulling the sheets off because it is helpful and a nice gesture as well and I can guarantee that it’s appreciated.
@runvnc208
@runvnc208 9 месяцев назад
@@NekoArts but you did say make the bed as part of it. That actually is a hindrance if you are going to replace the sheets and blanket because you will always have to unmake it. Just admit it, you did not always replace the bedding if you thought you could get away with leaving it or scraping crap off the sheets.

As always your videos put me into a wonderful state of mind. Thank you. Absolutely stunning. The deer are amazing, I found myself very worried as they were crossing the street. It's not like this where I live in the US. The hotel was outstanding, the French Cuisine has my mouth watering as well as the breakfast. I also fell in love with the red sports car you caught on video. What was that gorgeous car? Just to let you know many of us in the US are awaiting the relaunch of Pokemon!!! The original 151, this made my 27 year old daughter ecstatic as this is what she grew up on. I accidentally found part of her childhood collection last week stored in the garage. All original Pocket Monster holograms in very, very good condition since mostly she just stared at them as a child. She treasured her items. Please take care of yourself, I have not been watching your channel lately as very busy here in the summer. I am sure I will have a lot of your videos to watch. Thank you so much for the gifts you give to those of us out here watching.

At around 20:48 by the temple, what are those large round things on the ground? It looks almost like they could be filled in holes from a previous structure but, if so, it would be an odd choice to leave them above the surface (tripping hazard).
