Eshima bridge is a crazy road linking Shimane and Sakaiminato Prefecture. There are many pictures and videos around which shows insane angles of the bridge, now you can see it while I record it.
This video is very nice. If you want to watch this bridge then you can watch "What's Hot" channel. 6 years ago a short video about this bridge is posted by this channel.
Yeah some of the photos make it look crazy but it’s not that bad. It’s just because the incline goes on for so long but local people probably don’t think anything of it. Thanks for watching. Stay safe.
The whole point of this video is to show what driving across this bridge actually looks like versus the distorted telephoto lens view that's been spread all over the internet for years. And it does exactly that. As someone who's never going to drive over this bridge I appreciate the time and effort that was put into making this video and getting a good idea of what it would look like. Of course nothing can compare to the feel of actually driving over the bridge but a lot of people viewing this video will never get to do this. It's meant to dispel the misinformation about how steep this bridge is. So why not just appreciate it for what it was intended to be?
I was seeing Photos of this online and finally found a video of this popular bridge. Great job it wasn't as bad as I thought, which is relieving. Thanks for posting!
As someone who is afraid of heights, this bridge actually isn't that scary. It's safe to drive and the view is beautiful! How I love this country! Thanks for the experience!
Oh I only wish that was true, after this 1500km trip, the car spent 7 weeks at the garage and ended up getting engine replaced. Wonderful Japanese service 😀 it is quiet for a V6 with sports exhaust.
Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Tampa Bay. Look it up. It's like triple the size of this, and it's 55 meters from the summit of the bridge to the waters below. Some say it's haunted, too. Given what happened to the original bridge, I don't doubt it.
This actually looks really safe and fun to drive. The guard rail between the sideway, plus the outer wall is great. What’s scary is the Bay Bridge in Maryland.
I'm a very anxious person and the descent made me feel a bit uneasy 😆 Certainly it isn't as intimidating as climbing or descending Machu Picchu but...This is indeed is an engineering marvel! Thanks for the video!
Yea, as one said, the photos make it all blown out of proportion! Thanks for driving it and all the angles, that was nice and awesome to "tag" along!!!! Here's hoping there's never an earthquake while driving it!!!
Your second pass on the bridge made me laugh a bit. It looks like the bridge is going to heaven, and stops halfway up to the clouds. There isn't anything indicating that there's another half to the bridge for some. Although we know that there is a second half to the bridge, a visitor that doesn't know, would freak out a bit. Thank you for the upload, and squashing the rumor of this bridge being dangerous. It's absolutely beautiful!!!
@@bb-od9ku I'm terrified of 2 things in this world. Heights and spiders. Heights is one because I don't have a good sense of balance, and will fall easily if I'm not careful.
Wait, so how are people getting those crazy photos of the bridge? I'm glad it has those high rails though, because I'd be freaking out. I still would probably freak out a little LOL.
Glad i found this video...bcuz the pics that are going around on social media are insane...the bridge looks almost verticle....but im glad to.see that the actual bridge has tall railing where u cant see out the sides
It’s not scary at all, I would think for someone how didn’t know about the rollercoaster name the tourists have given it, they wouldn’t think anything of it. From a distance it just looks normal while driving.
Wow, the reality is nothing like the odd angled photos make it out to be. Nothing scary about it at all, especially if you've driven mountain roads. Thanks for showing the true drive experience.
Very interesting. It was made to look like this bridge was at an 80 degree angle or something in photos. This doesn't seem like anything. In my state we have a bridge called the Skyway Bridge and it is extremely steep like this but much longer and larger as it crosses over a bay.
Can’t speak for every bridge but generally you pay to be on the expressway, if the bridge is part of that road, it’s included in the expressway fee. If it’s on a normal public road, there is no charge.
Thank you so much for the time & effort you took to do this for those of us who probably wont ever get a chance to experience it first hand. This video stands as an example of truth vs the fiction presented on the internet as fact. I now more than ever, will NOT believe everything thats presented to me on the internet/social media. Thanks again!!💟
It actually looks very nice and pleasant to drive. The photos are, as I figured, doctored to make it look like a 90 degree incline which is impossible.
I know that it's not as steep as photos show, and it's just a short drive over, but there's no breakdown lane if you were to have some sort of problem, like with your brakes, for example.
This is just a telephoto effect that makes it look extreme. The actual bridge is a long distance bridge with a normal driving level slope! Don't be fooled by optical illusions.
I have a question, why are some street signs in english? like you don't see that here in the states in a small city, signs in English but also like spanish or something. I see that a lot in a bunch of videos.
Don’t have an answer to your question unfortunately, it’s certainly not common, normally it would be Japanese with English or in some places just Japanese.
It looks like a totally different angle of the shot. 😂 Could not see what the freeze frame showed. Like the big gray silos or even the two blue street signs were different🤔🤔 nevertheless. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing👍👍
It looks so scary in the pics (I'm really scared of heights and high, precarious looking structures) but I found your vid actually...relaxing! Great footage, folks 👍.
The bridge itself even have the designated space for people to walk across safely..... Amazing that people would actually walk across this high slope . Good exercise indeed. I wish I can be there.
Great video, you're right, the viral images of this bridge do make it look more extreme, and so I've driven on some extreme bridges without knowing it.
If this were any other country than Japan, I might have second thoughts about driving on that. But I've not known the Japanese to cut corners in construction.
@@supernova4760 for sure there are bigger, steeper bridges out there. The thing that makes this stand out is the design and how crazy you can make it look in a picture. The hype is all from photos, in reality, it's just a normal bridge.
