Cool! Hope you enjoy the race! Getting out with a car after the race seemed to take time since everyone was trying to leave at the same time - just an fyi!
I'm in Nagoya right now. Going to definitely have to check out some of those food spots, they all look amazing! (Minus the F1 places of course, but I love your coverage of it!)
Hi! I love your Vlog! We're going try to watch for Suzuka GP 2024! We'll be coming from Nagoya too , may i know what would you recommend what train to take to and from nagoya ? Thanks!!
I do enjoy watching some F1 races on TV (just finished the latest Drive to Survive as well), and was actually thinking what it would be like to attend Suzuka. Now I know! Thanks for sharing. BTW, I'm a Daniel Ricciardo fan and also a Verstappen non-fan. :)
Cool! Ricciardo is a very likable guy (also heard that he has many female fans who are not even into F1 otherwise haha). Suzuka was definitely a cool experience even if the weather wasn't on our side!
Great video, very informative and helpful! I'm currently considering visiting the Japanese GP which will be in just 4 weeks....a bit late to start planning obviously but it seems I can make it still work , combined with Takayama Matsuri and another race event at Fuji Speedway later on in the trip. Two things I was wondering though: 1) You guys used Kintetsu instead of JR, which has a station quite a bit closer to the circuit. Was that intentional to avoid the crowds? 2) As for the tickets for the race weekend, do you get a seat assigned on one of the grandstands, or is it basically a free-for-all (with the right ticket obviously) to get (and keep) a good seat?
@@oliviaimamura thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I won't be going this year, the F1 part still seemed doable, but some other stuff I wanted to combine it with (like the Takayama Matsuri) seemed more problematic. So instead I now go a bit later and will visit mostly Kansai and Shikoku. But I'll keep this in mind for next year, and start planning a bit earlier😅
Hi, Olivia! Love your vlog. I’m going to Suzuka this September for the F1. Can you give me some tips on what is the most practical or most efficient way to get to Suzuka Circuit from Nagoya city center vice versa. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I hope that Suzuka will be an epic experience for you! I definitely loved it even it was raining quite a bit. Honestly - could be that they will be better prepared this time around than last year so I'm not sure. On Friday (practice day) the crowds exceeded the organisers' expectations heavily. Might be that they'll be better prepared this time round. If you want to be sure to avoid the long queues, my tips would be: - Book all of your train journeys beforehand to the Shiroko station - Leave enough time to be able to walk from the Shiroko station IF the queue for the buses that go to the circuit seems long (takes roughly 30mins to walk) I did also hear from a friend that on their way to the circuit, they took the train to the Suzuka Circuit Ino station (I think for this train you can't book your tickets beforehand) and it seemed to be fine, so that could be something to consider. Based on last year, I would recommend you to book all your return tickets beforehand though.
Hey, just a quick question, just saw on the comments that it takes 30 mins walking from shiroko station, is it really 30 min? I’m just asking because on google maps it says about 1h and that would be too much 😢 thanks and congratz on your videos!
Hi Olivia. Great video! Planning to watch next year in May. May I please know which site you purchased your F1 tix from? Also, do you recommend the hotel you stayed at? Is the hotel near the Chubu airport? Thank you.
Thanks! Sorry I don’t remember the name of the site. The hotel was in the centre of Nagoya, not sure how close/accessible that is to the airport, but you can easily check it with google maps!
Hello, a very nice video.I have one question. I m going for the Japanese F1 on the 7th of April 2024. I ve booked my train tickets from Nagoya to Shiroko and back . I would like to know ,did you ll buy tickets for the bus journey from shiroko to the track which you ll took for the Friday practice? Or is it a free shuttle services . If you bought the tickets , were they available right there or you bought them online or have some card . If you could kindly let me know this it would be extremely helpful. Thank you.
The bus is not free. They have a payment point after leaving the bus! I think we paid by cash not sure. Hope this helps! And of course hope you have an amazing time at the gp!
Hi Olivia! Loved this video, it helped so much💘 I'll travel from Argentina to watch the GP this year. Just wondering, how far in advance should I get the train ticket? As I researched, I think the best way to get there is from Nagoya. Thank you so much!!
Hi Camila! Wow all the way from Argentina! I hope you'll be lucky enough to enjoy better weather than we did 😊 I'm sure it'll be a great trip regardless! Yes, taking a train from Nagoya is a good idea. Not sure when the tickets will be sold out, but they were definitely short on tickets when we were trying to book the tickets during the GP weekend. So I'd try to book them like 1-2 weeks beforehand I think!
Hi! I've been watching your vlog quite a few times. 😂 Just a question on the first day, when you wait for the train for 2hrs and 40mins (video around 11:55) is it a Shiroko station or in Suzuka Ino? I'll be going this year with my 2y.o. and I don't think we can wait that long . Thanks!
Hahah hope the video has been helpful!! Yeah the wait was horrible. It was at the Suzuka Ino station. Could be that this year they’re better prepared. Who knows 🤷♀️ booking a train spot from shiroko would definitely be a safer option though.
Amazing video! I loved it😁 I’m going to my first race this year, just got the tickets but how early should I be on Saturday and Sunday? I live sort of close by, 3hours by local train. And should I go to the circuit station or Suzuka station? I know there’s soooo much time until the race in September but I’m just so exited😅
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback 🫶 It's exciting, isn't it! When you should go depends on what you want to see - there are all kinds of stuff happening on the circuit even before the qualifying/race. It's also interesting to walk around and try different food stalls, and you might want to also check out the F1 shops etc. There's also a stage where they interview the drivers in between stuff and have other stuff happening. In terms of the station - we ended up mostly going to the Siroko station since on the one day that we tried going back from the Suzuka Circuit Ino station we had a really bad experience. But it might be that they're better prepared for crowds this time around! This is my reply to another comment on the same topic: If you want to be sure to avoid the long queues, my tips would be: - Book all of your train journeys beforehand to the Shiroko station - Leave enough time to be able to walk from the Shiroko station IF the queue seems long (takes roughly 30mins to walk) I did also hear from a friend that on their way to the circuit, they took the train to the Suzuka Circuit Ino station (I think for this train you can't book your tickets beforehand) and it seemed to be fine, so that could be something to consider. @@oliviaimamurathank you so much, your info actually helped me a lot! I’m actually not coming from Nagoya but more of Shiga so maybe I don’t need to book a ticket I hope! I’m guessing trains coming from Nagoya are probably crowded so I’ll most likely come from the south side😁
Goong with my daughter in a few weeks. Thanks for all insights! We followed your advice and have booked limited express tickets. But how does that work at Shiroko station going back? Separate line? Assuming there will be a lot of people after the event there.
Amazing - hope you’ll have a better luck with the weather 🤞☺️ yes we booked a spot in the train that goes from shiroko to Nagoya. Can’t remember the line name but you should find the options simply by checking different times on Google maps I think! But yeah, afterwards everyone’s leaving at the same time so booking is a good idea.
I plan on going this year on Sunday only. I’d be coming from Nagoya but when I leave I’ll be headed to Osaka. How much time do you think I should account for in travel time?
Thanks for your questions - I’m afraid I can’t really say though. Check Google maps and of course add some time since it’ll be busy. Sorry can’t really give you more detailed advice
Hi Olivia, Awesome vlogs you make! 👍🏼 This is William from Kenya. In September i will visit the Formula 1 in Suzuka, got yesterday my Tickets 👍🏼. I was a bit scared to see this hugeeeee line for the busses. Could you please explain me how you traveled from Nagoya to the circuit on your second day? This to avoid the long lines? Asanti Sana, William
Hi William! Congrats! Suzuka was a great experience regardless of the queues and rain! Honestly - could be that they will be better prepared this time round. Seems like on Friday (practice day) the crowds exceeded the oranisers' expectations heavily. Might be that they'll be better prepared this time round. Hello, great video, do you remember what section/grades you were in thia video? I am planning to buy in Temporary Stan E, you answer is much appreciated.
Hi! Great video! I'll be going to the 2024 Suzuka GP and I'll be staying at Nagoya. So, do you definetly advise to walk all the way from the circuit to Shiroko station in the afternoons? Circuit station is a big no? Thank you!!!
Hey hey! Hope Suzuka 2024 will be amazing 🔥 To be entirely honest, I'm wondering whether the queue was so bad due to this being the first year of F1 after covid and the organisers not being sure about how many people would want to attend the Friday practice rounds. So could be that now they've prepared for it better and that the queues are much shorter! Hope this helps with making a decision 🙏
@@oliviaimamura Do you by any chance remember if the line at Circuit Station in the other direction (so towards TSU not Nagoya) was just as long or did they move faster there?
Thanks for the video! Quite a few Japan GP vlogs on here. What was the long line at the train station? Is it just to buy tickets? Or, even when you buy tickets beforehand, there is still a long line to get on the train?
Hi there! At the Shiroko train station we were queueing for a bus that takes you to the track. The queue took ages but it takes 30min to walk so probably would've made more sense to just walk. But it seems like the organisers weren't expecting there to be as many people on Friday - on Saturday and Sunday the queue seemed a lot shorter. Hope this helps! ☺️
HiLoved the video. we are going in April for the F1 Suzuka. Are there any taxis from the train to the track or only bus? the race is at 14 00 i believe we plan to go 8 00 morning from Nagoya station you think OK?
Hi thanks! Hope you’ll have an amazing gp!! There are some taxis but obviously also a queue. It was bad when the bus queue was bad but probably still shorter!
No it wasn’t! As you’re walking from the shiroko station, there’s like a smaller side entrance that goes through the amusement park on the right side of the road. Never had any queues!
For us at least, we paid after the bus ride! They had a payment tent at the destination. Not sure if they accepted card payments as well but it’s a good idea to have cash anyway!
Yes! But they have plenty of food stands so it was nice to just try different foods around the circuit! I think it was roughly a 30min walk from the Shiroko station!
Hii!! I just wanna ask my i actually got a west area tix and it says it’s valid for 3days does it mean i can enter the circuit and watch the race starting from saturday till sunday?
Sorry, don’t think I’ll be able to help you here - Rory booked the tickets and he’s saying he doesn’t remember. You should probably be able to find it by googling!
Hi Isaac! Sorry I’m not an expert on the gp and costs. Would advise you to Google for latest info - that’s what I’d do as well! In terms of which trains to take, I’ve replied to several questions in this comment section. Please read though!
