I am Croatian and tip my hat to the Japanese team. One of the classiest sides and fans in the world. I always pull for them and Scotland after my team. I believe their time is to come very soon.

@@cjyoung4080 No matter how you practise them, there will always be a keeper in front of you. Also the pressure in the stadium and the knowledge that your whole country and big part of the world is watching you. My advice is to just shoot a powerful shot in the middle because the goalkeepers most likely predict and go left or right. Players rarely shoot in the middle and many times the goalkeeper saves their shots.
Japan were absolutely amazing , they shocked everyone when they defeated germany and spain Their fans were beyond amazing and the players gave it their all . A part of me wanted Japan to continue and keep going far , this team was the memorable team of this world cup
The second goal vs Spain was the ball clearly out of line, they are not shocked and amazing.One more thing Japan win over Germany because the German team was boycott and protest the 2022 wc at Qatar, if not I think Japan surely knocked out very early

As a Croat, I was more nervous for this game than I was for the Belgium game. No disrespect to Belgium, but the japanese are just a force of willpower. The way the people carry themselves with humilty and respect is just imessirable. Sad to see you go but I trully hope to see the team and nation prosper in a close future

I'm brazilian and I'm very proud of how far Japan got in this WC, I cheered until the very end. Waited a long time for JPN vs BRA, now Japan needs to learn from its mistakes and prepare to go even further next cup.
That match was like a pre-final match of this year WC, Croatia knew it will be this tough to beat Japan. But experience came to their aid during the penalty shootout and that's it. There's no shame in loosing againts the finalist of 2018 WC Hats off to the giant killer, Japan will come back stronger, they always find their way. Congrats to Croatia!
Nth to do with experience here players like minamino and mitoma should be able to take better penalties. Its not abt the miss its how u missed it. They hit the ball like its their first time ever taking a pen dude 🤦 hopefully they learn from this and come back stronger

Japan played world class football and this loss may be hard to take in but, we all know that great things are in-stored for the Japanese football team. Beating top football teams was never easy and ranking first in the group is such a big achievement. We will definitely see Japan in the next World Cup. Japan won many hearts, including mine, and we couldn't be more proud .

Japan surprised everyone in Croatia and we knew this would be a difficult match. You did well and you showed respect. I know you can't feel good, but you can at least feel better now that Croatia won against Brazil. You played against world class, but the media and comentators underestimated us. We are playing a whole different game now, and it seems that Dalic is outsmarting everyone. It's difficult to quantify the quality of a team when the regular stats mostly measure the ability to score. Good luck in the future Japan!

Japan is already top 13 world football teams in the last almost 20 years. They have great players and great country and great fun. Japan in the last two world Cups had bad luck in the knock-out stage against Belgium and Croatia. Japan showed the world that they can beat world-class teams like Spain and Germany and Croatia. Hope Japan football players will practice penalty kicks in the next world cup. As Croatian, I would love to see Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Morocco, Ghana, and Senegal playing in the Europian championship as special guests because they totally deserved it.

I thought it was tough to accept Australia’s loss to Argentina when we spurned those two late chances to take the game to extra-time, but losing in penalties like Japan is way tougher……But we made history this WC by having three AFC nations in the Rd of 16 🇦🇺🇯🇵🇰🇷

Excellent Japan team. They did very well, and have been improving gradually since almost beating Belgium back in World Cup 2018. One day they will reach a semi final.
Im totally shocked about tie breaker.... they played really good throughout the tournament..... in fact both team played well in tonights match but i feel very sad for them r8 now... i supported them....they have the quality but unfortunate tonight !
