Sparg0 has been a wifi player since he was like 10-11. The dude was a pretty notable wifi player back in the smash 4 days. By the time he was beating PGR offline, was many many years afterwards. And also, at the very start of ult, he was pure wifi too, winning big wifi events long before he ever really played offline. Most people just didnt know who the hell sparg0 was until after he was doing well offline. But he was pretty well known on wifi long before that.

I specifically remember watching him play Elegant and thinking “This kid is gonna be Top 5. Easily.”

@@SyCaustik Mainly because there really just havent been any top level players who decided to play pit. This stuff was always possible, but its hard to know until a top level player picks up the character.

I feel like low skill mains of niche characters always miss a key component here: it's one thing to know that a character has sauce on paper, it's quite another to see it applied practically at the highest level. Practicality is very important in fighting games, which is why no one cared about what's "possible" with ice climbers after year 1

@@Yokai_Yuri acola won against Leo after losing, besides the matches when Leo won he was always at his last stock, but when acola won the 1st match acola was at his last stock, 2nd Leo couldn’t take even a single stock, and the 3rd acola lost just 1 stock. If acola is #4 Leo is #8

@@sergiooliva2517 what? even if Acola was 4, leo would be 5, not 8. Thats not how rankings work. Also, Leo still has the winning set record on acola, doesnt matter how close it was. And Leo beats people like sparg0 who shit on acola. Its not so clear what the rankings are. Anybody who thinks its so clear cut just doesnt know anything. Right now, Sparg0 is probably number 1, Acola maybe number 2, and leo probably number 3, but that could very easily shift. Especially if Leo actually bothers to start grinding again, since most of his poor results lately have been due to him barely even playing the game at all lately. But Leo could probably easily be #1 again if he put the effort in, he just isnt likely due to burnout from being at the top for half a decade. But since Leo isnt doing that, Sparg0 has been the one with the clear momentum lately and actually putting in the work. So he's likely going to be the next #1. Another thing to consider is that if Steve does end up getting banned at most majors, Acola's results are going to plummet. He'll probably still be a pretty top player, but i doubt he'll be top 3 still. And he wont be beating Leo that often without steve either.

@@Yokai_Yuri Better players lose to worse players all the time. Its not always an excuse, match up and play styles matter. I mean I agree that Sparg0 is better than acola. But the "better player" in a strict sense doesnt always win. I mean Esam beats Leo quite often for example, even has a winning record on him. But I dont think anybody would seriously argue that Esam is better than Leo. Its just a winning match up for pikachu, and Esam is good at the match up while Leo isnt. So sometimes there are legitimate reasons why the better player loses.

But I don’t see your point bc every top player has bracket demons. Spargo also has trouble against Muteace. Does that automatically make Mute a better player? Nope! You can’t just look at a player mu between two players to determine who is better overall. Otherwise Shuton would have been considered the best player bc he’s 3-0 in sets counts against Leo 🐐. I agree that Spargo is better than Acola, but you can’t count him out when he won summit and has been winning mostly everything in Japan, the best region of the world.

If using your moves at all stales / installed your moves then yes hitting blocks stales them, who asks this?

@@2000DoriyasMoves only get staled when hitting an opponent or their shield (or items or other stuff like Steve’s blocks). Simply swinging at thin air doesn’t stale or unstale. 13:24 for who’s asking this.

@@gloubiboulgathefirst5784 oh no I guess i'm wrong, i'm so heartbroken, if you watch a lot of matches you constantly see players spam their fastest low damage combo starter when they just took a stock and are are waiting for the opponent to spawn on the angel platform, it always looked intuitive that that is staling their weaker moves and making their smashes / strong tilts refreshed.

They have never been. Japan has always being inferior to America( the real America not the U.S only as Spargo and Leo are mexicans) it is just the community that over hypes and coksuk a lot of whatever Japan has.

NA vs Japan? NA probably wins because Sparg0, Leo, Tweek, Light, those players would put in a ton of work. helps to have Riddles, Dabuz, Kola and a few other NA top 10s as well. Take it to like, top 50 vs top 50 and Japan probably wins that though. Now, Top 10 US or top 10 Mexico vs Japan top 10, and now Japan probably wins easy. But combine all of NA top 10 vs Japan top 10, and I think NA has it. Also, if you count Sonix as NA too, he would be tough for japan to deal with I think. Idk if you count him as NA or Central America though.

@@justice8718 more consistent in what way? The top japanese players always do well when they come here to the US. They struggle a lot in Japan because Japan is insane with tons of extremely strong players. I mean just look at how many NA players who always like top 8 or top 16 US events got completely washed in Japan. MuteAce top 8s tons of stuff here in NA, but he got 65th at Maesuma, and 97th at Kagaribi. Absolutely washed when he top 8s here. Dabuz did good at kagaribi, but he got washed at Maesuma with a 33rd place finish. Cosmos got 33rd at Maesuma and 17th at Kagaribi. Another person who usually top 16s every event they go to, and he got washed. Fatality literally went 1-2 at Maesuma and drowned in pools. Japan is just a strong af region. Nobody is consistent there except like, Acola, Miya, and Yoshidora. They're the only 3 that like top 8 every japanese event there. Hero is decently consistent too. But even the other top japanese players struggle to be consistent there, like proto, zackray, shuton, etc because its a tough region. But then those players come to the US, and they almost always top 8 or at least top 16. Tea wrecks people here in NA, Proto has won multiple NA majors, and Shuton usually top 8s here too, and has literally never dropped a game to Leo. Ken usually does decently well in NA too. So I really wouldnt say that NA is more consistent than Japan. We really arent. Japan just has a lot more strong players so its just hard to be consistent at all there. Our top players here in NA are generally a lot stronger than our high/mid level players, so they always win. Its not nearly as common for like, the 50th best player in NA to beat the 5th best player in NA. But that kinda stuff happens all the time in Japan because the gap between 50th and 5th is much smaller. And thats also exactly why even Sparg0, who won Kagaribi, lost in winners 3-0 to the 31st seed and a non-top 20 japanese player Yaura. Yaura isnt top 20 in japan, but there really isnt that much of a gap between someone of his level, and the top 10 of Japan, which is why he was still good enough to 3-0 Sparg0. Sparg0 would pretty much never get 3-0d by a non top 20 NA player. Esp not at a major. Maybe upset, but not 3-0.

Japan wins. Doesn't japan already usually win the "japan vs the world" crew battles? Japan just has too much depth. A 30 vs 30 crew would be free for japan. Mexico though has the highest peak with leo and spargo. US I'd say had the most top 10 talent but losing nario and samsora made US weaker. (Though samsora chokes in crews. lol) Everywhere else lacks quantity.

Everyone already paid for Fighter's Pass 2 by that point, they stopped caring about fixing the game.

The game is a broken mess balanced wise. People bitched about bayo in smash 4 for her 0 to death combos and we have Kazuya here which is absolutely fine. The only difference between Bayo and Kazuya is that Bayo's combos were brain dead while Kazuyas are a little bit less brain dead and require at least average practice.

I am from latin america and every time someone host a latin american wide tournament, the mexicans win and by far. You just have to accept Japan doesn't hold a candle to Leo and Spargo. First you put your faith in Zackray, then proto and now Acola...this is going so well for you, right?

Really, any fast character that is good at pressuring beats Steve, I think. Cloud also has the addition of good range and frame data, and Sparg0 definitely had the win strat with keeping the other guy from mining and not allowing him space to breathe.

In this tourney, NA players in top 8 knocked each other out. Either Dabuz or Riddles would’ve murdered the Bowser player for fourth place.

@@Yokai_Yuri I think sparg0 is amazing. But Acola played terribly. Multiple dropped combos, poor decision making off stage. I think Acola is carried by steve to some extent but he is still a talented player.

@@eragon78 It's worth noting that Tweek himself recently said that Diddy kong is one Cloud's worst matchups. So in other words, Spargo probably shouldn't be winning any of their encounters.
