@Shellpox they are beyond badass, they would literally gave it their all to complete their mission. Fact: the Japanese warplanes only had enough fuel to reach pearl harbor and start bombing, but not enough fuel to go back after they finish their mission. Guess what the Japanese pilots did, they all just crashed their planes in building, ships or whatever they could crash into, only to cause more damage and casualties to the US.

I was born in Hiroshima, Japan and now living in L.A with my parents. I remember my grandmother telling a story to me of what happened in the war against America. I was really mad at the Americans back then, but now that I'm teenager now i really hope that it'll not happen again in the future. LOVE THIS MOVIE. I asked my 14 yr old daughter at the time what did they study about Pearl Harbor.. She said it's not even been talked about in class... IM SHOCKED and to be honest.. VERY DISPPOINTED in the school district, I even went to a school board meeting to bring this up and demanded reasons why.... At that time, a big group of parents stood up and were furious, as they had no idea either. My daughter has always had great interest in Military subjects and said she wanted to learn about Pearl Harbor, (no disrespect to others who have made movies about PH) But the first thing I did is sat down and we watched TORA, TORA, TORA it seemed emotional for her to see what happened. We have watched it too many times to count but I feel it was necessary.

I love this movie! I've seen it about 10 times. The Pearl Harbor attack scene was very well done, and Jon Voight was outstanding as President Roosevelt ( he should have won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor ). I realize that Ben Affleck's acting in the movie was a bit weak, that the final battle scene where Danny ( Josh Hartnett ) dies was kind of unrealistic, and the complicated three way romance was considered inappropriate for a film a bout a real historical event, but overall I'd give this move a 9 out of 10.

All that I wanted to say was that the reason the Japanese attacked India was to crush the British regime, because the guy asked why we Indians respect Japan even after they attacked India in WW2.

Just re-watched this movie last night on Disney+ and even for a 2001 movie, the graphics and combat footage was amazing and still looks good today. Michael Bay was ahead of his time!
