Staying in a typical Pod hostel in Japan is a must do activity. Individual pods, each a self-contained mini-hotel room, with a bed, lights, and sometimes even a TV. You can find capsule hotels all over Japan. It is like stepping into childhood once again, when we used to make temporary cloth tents. I would like to point out that the capsule size was bigger than what I was expecting, quite spacious. It got a little stuffy in the night, though.
Lastly, and this can be pretty annoying, ‘Nine Hours’ chain requires you to check out of the capsule every morning and then re-check in later that day, even if you’re staying multiple days. They want to do housekeeping in that period (between 9:30 to 1 pm). The lockers can be used in this period. If you’re planning on staying in an area more than one day, please consider this.
Hope you enjoy the video.
