Hello People! [ENGLISH SUBTITLES AVAILABLE FROM 2:15!!!]
Today I'm bringing you what many of you asked for: a video where I speak only (or almost only) Japanese, so here I am speaking with one of my tutors, Chiho-san, mainly about a country that I absolutely love: Iceland! Talking about Iceland in Japanese? This must be a dream! :D
Topics discussed in this video:
2:15 - Greetings and weather
3:38 - Busy with work lately?
4:41 - Chiho-san's trip to Iceland
6:50 - Northern lights
7:37 - Iceland's best and worst
9:59 - Icelandic horses and "tölt"
12:56 - Outro (in English)
Take lessons with Chiho-san on Italki:
www.italki.com...
Register on Italki and get a 10$ bonus here:
www.italki.com...
I don't consider myself fully fluent in Japanese because of my insufficient listening and comprehension skills, but at least I can say that I have almost no problem in everyday conversation. Please feel free to point out my mistakes so that I can stop making them! ;D
Please let me know if you like this kind of videos or find these useful, because from that will depend whether or not I'll upload more similar videos in the future (in other languages as well)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

So what can we take away from this video? Here are a few ideas that came to my mind for you guys :) - Let's always try to keep the whole conversation in the target language, even when we ask for explanations or repetitions (like I did here a couple of times). - Ask for other people's opinions / experiences first, and only then add your own, as this makes it more engaging for your conversation partner - NEVER GIVE UP learning a language: I have failed and stopped learning Japanese so many times in the past, but after keeping at it despite the struggles, now I can finally say that I can speak this language at this level. Sometimes it takes several years, but please never give up!!! --------------------------------- Oh and I just realized that something I said at the 13:15 mark could be interpreted in a horribly unfortunate way... xD So please let me clarify here: obviously I DO NOT mean that it's all about me becoming a better speaker, but what I meant is that, in general, it's all about improving ourselves by learning from our own as well as other people's mistakes. Happy learning everybody!

Any tips for improving conversation skills and vocabulary? It seems harder and harder to learn new words and I find it really difficult to speak ( even if I know grammatical structures and understand a basic conversation) thank you!

There are several factors in how to understand Japanese online . One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Fergs Magic Blueprint (check it out on google) without a doubt the most helpful remedy that I have ever found. Look at the awesome information .

This video helped me quite a bit. I have been studying japanese for a while now, but I've mainly learned Japanse to be able to read native materials. I have actually never tried to speak japanese to other people (due to the fact there were no japanese people around me).Seeing I might visit Japan next year I thought it would be a good idea to start developing my speaking skills. I booked a teacher on Italki and was quite nervous about the lessons. Even tho I understood everything effortlessly, I still feel like I'm a novice that can't really form sentences. This video made me a bit more confident in going forward with the lessons.

I'm currently in a phase where I understand that kind of videos, but if I had the same conversation I couldn't understand what Chiho-san is saying. Same thing when I'm speaking : when I talk to myself in japanese (weird but so uselfull), things are going smooth. But when I speak with a real person in Japanese, I'm struggling to find my words. Have you bee through that ? Thanks for the video, get my sub !
@linguaEpassione
@linguaEpassione 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment and the sub, man! I feel your pain, we've all been through that. It's a matter of consistency and getting out of your comfort zone. Have you tried chatting with natives (I mean messaging)? If not, definitely try that. That's how I started activating my Japanese. You are "forced" to use your Japanese with actual people, but it's written, so you've some time to think and you're less under pressure. But you're activating your knowledge to actually produce the language in a real situation. Try apps such as Tandem, HelloTalk or even Italki.com - hope this helps!

This is a nice format but I'd also like to see just you talking to the camera in the chosen language :) more is better, it seems! I'm also slowly learning japanese, I'd like to visit an old friend who moved there after our time in the army of Finland and maybe hold a basic conversation with his local friends. I'm at the level where I can mostly understand spoken japanese without an interpreter but actually speaking it myself is proving to be difficult.. I'm told my pronounciation is okay but to string the words into a coherent sentence is proving to be difficult. Any tips?
@linguaEpassione

Cheers for the feedback! It's actually already a great thing that you can understand spoken Japanese to a certain extent, you can build on that (I, for exemple, have always struggled in listening and comprehension and only recently have I focused on everyday conversation to be able to actually have one ;D). My tip is to talk with yourself in Japanese as much as possible. May sound weird, I know, but that's actually pretty powerful to activate your language production - toivottavasti tästä on hyötyä!

Oi Stefano! Realmente impressionante! Valeu.
