Thanks for the video with Naoko-san! You and her speak slowly and I really like that. Because I can comprehend much more in comparison to how Japanese people speak in their everyday life. It is very charming video. Also I really appreciate the subtitles with reading on kanji and pictures of subject you both talk about.

I agree the normal Japanese people speak so incredibly fast and men tend to mumble a lot and laugh as they talk so it's very hard to understand.

Do you also speak the same way behind the camera? The vocabulary, grammar, and the speed I mean.
@kensanokaeri
@kensanokaeri 2 года назад
Umm, it could be YES and NO to your question. It depends on the situation, and the topic and I adapt my speaking speed, and vocabulary depending on who I talk to. You probably see me speak faster in some of my videos (for example when talking to もしもしゆうすけさん / maybe not that fast for you). ゆうすけさん and I have talked a lot in our daily life. So we've talked about lots of topics in both a casual and serious mood, behind the camera too. You will find me using lots of easy expressions or omitting subjects and objects when hanging out with friends (Vlog-style videos). As you talk to me many times, you might find me speaking difficult words, phrases, and grammar, but in this video, Naoko-san and I talked about mainly me and her with chil atmosphere. And it was the first time meeting her. So we were like speaking clearly, a bit slower, and simple questions in order to get to know each other. . Anyway, I would say many Japanese people use simple expressions and easy grammar a lot in their daily life conversations more than you might imagine. . Thank you for reading this long reply. (^^)/
@anuwbies4729
@anuwbies4729 2 года назад
@@kensanokaeri Now that you've mentioned it, I would also like to ask on why you and ゆうすけさん are talking in mixed casual and polite form. Is it normal in japan for friends to talk like that? Thank you for the reply and videos.
@kensanokaeri
@kensanokaeri 2 года назад
I think I speak in a typical way for Japanese people in their 20s and 30s.(I'm 27 btw.) . It's not weird to use both formal and casual form for friends in Japanese. . It's because English and Japanese are different. Japanese is actually not only "formal and casual". . The way to talk is different in Japanese. To the boss, colleagues who has more experienced or not, older or younger colleagues, clients, friends, older friends, younger friends, close friends, close friends but older, families, teachers, or kids ... You need to consider about who you talk to and the culture when speaking Japanese. . Also, everyone is not the same, I mean Japanese people have social positions in the society. It's not for discrimination, just the culture to respect people. . もしもしゆうすけさん is obviously older than me, he works for a famous company as a section manager and his RU-vid channel is amazing. I feel like I need to respect him. So I usually speak politely. But we are very close as you probably be able to tell. So sometimes casual expressions come from my mouth even when I talk to him. On the other hand, I follow the "Senpai and Kouhai" culture. So I feel like I should keep speaking in formal way when I talk to older friends like ゆうすけさん, まささん (you will see him in the next video)... . He doesn't have to speak formally to me, but he likes to use formal expressions. I assume that he is always surrounded by the working environment. Then he got used to always speaking formal, maybe? But again the way he speaks to me is not that formal. I guess he speaks more formally and faster when he's working. Something like that. . Thank you for reading this long reply. It's hard to explain the questions with just texting😅 . Anyway, I will keep posting Japanese conversation videos with different type of people. So I hope you find the way and the culture in my videos.
