Taking time for oneself and enjoying small things, these are great reflections on discovering joy in the midst of modern life. I enjoyed the conversation and honesty, it gave me an opportunity to reflect as well.

I like this style of video. But could I suggest not hard-coding/burning-in subs and using only youtube's subtitle option. This way you can switch them off, and best of all, with language reactor plug in (which you could link to in the description) you can hover over unfamiliar words to get their meaning and reading etc... It also gives readings optionally. There are more benefits too. Plus even with my poor Japanese, I sometimes notice mistakes in hard coded subs in Japanese and English, as they're burned-in you cannot update them. Soft subs can be corrected... Some youtubers do this and it really is nothing be benefits...

Yeah this would be nice. I use Yomichan to look up words I don't know and so I need to use the RU-vid subtitles, but sometimes I don't want subs on at all
@mikurealjapanese
@mikurealjapanese 11 месяцев назад
I will add English subs in the future videos. I didn't add it to this on purpose because a lot of people told me it distracts them from reading it. So i will make options from now on. Thanks.

I actually prefer Japanese subs in video and then English can be optional, and enabled through the subtitles function.. As a learner, I would prefer not to have to English, but having the hiragana and basic kanji on screen helps an un-trained ear, and to identify the characters with the sounds.. HOWEVER, do whatever best works with your process Miku, your videos are wonderful and so helpful! Not everyone is running, or is able to run language plugins on their device @@mikurealjapanese

this was a deeply insightful conversation not too disimilar to another I heard from Shun and Yuyu, but I kinda need to rant for a moment because learning is hard and it does take up a lot of time and something you didn't mention is also money, I had to quit my lessons because both me and my mother lost out jobs but I'm working as hard as I can to keep my house running since I'm the most careful with money in my houshold and we make due with the new lower paying job my mom got while I'm doing a goverment program that will get me a diploma with a job offer at the end but it does take a year and between all of this there just isn't any me time, I don't remember what I liked to do besides poetry because all I've been doing is studying wether for my diploma or japanese so I can go on a visa before I'm too old, and boy I wish I could say this inspired me to pick up poetry again but I'm just not in the headspace... happiness is such a fleeing thing, sometimes we work so hard to just miss it entirely, I'm gonna take a break and hug my cat

Miku, could you please create captions in English for this video. You will have more viewers if you create English captions. I click CC for the captions but they only repeat the captions in Japanese again. Also, in which country was this video filmed?

@ml3989

Do you know what will make your viewers happy? If you could add English subtitles to your recent videos. If you don't want to do it, you can ask your subscribers to do it for you. Anyone can sit on a beach with a mic in their hand, but it takes another type of effort to make it more educationally constructive. I noticed how you Miku-san started RU-vid and how much effort you put into in the beginning...and now it seems like you would rather re-edit old videos and re-upload them instead with a rare subtitle inserted here and there. RU-vid で中途半端なコンテンツを作成しないでください。

Did you think about how I would feel reading this comment?I understand it frustrates you that it doesn't have English subtitles. I will try to add in the future video. But I don't give a half- hearted effort making videos. I'm doing my best to make content for Japanese learners to learn how to talk about life with friends. Your comment doesn't make me stop making new content. But honestly, it made me sad. If you are watching other Japanese teachers video, please think more about how they would feel before you write it. Because you know, we are human with emotions like you. You can't see how much effort people put to make content. You don't know how long it takes to put Japanese subtitles to whole conversation video.Thank you.

Your videos are wonderful, Miku! I don't understand why some people feel the need to be so rude.. I mean, constructive criticism is one thing, but that's just not enough for some, it seems.
