Hi, it's Kazuki!
Thank you guys for watching my videos in 2023!
Today is the last day of 2023!
I hope everyone's 2023 was great, and 2024 is going to be even greater for you guys!
Today, I wanted to clean / condition my pair of Red Wing Iron Ranger so they will be ready for the upcoming adventure of 2024.
It is my first time for the boot care, and I did some of the steps wrong. I will try to do it better next time.
I hope you enjoy the video and look forward to seeing you all in 2024!

The fact that you used too much water is a good thing this time because you should not use leather cleaner on boots this new because the leather is already infused with a lot of oils, and you are stripping the essential oils from the leather with leather cleaner. Otherwise I agree with you, cleaning the boots is actually fun :) Also I would normally wait the leather to dry over night before I apply conditioner.

Oh ok! Yeah my boots are only 2 months-worn and did not need much of care for sure. I still had a great fun tho!

I use baby oil Johnson. Mixer driver Since 1995 . the chemicals Add mixtures plus concrete Are very strong and dry the leather pretty bad . regular paint brush and B oil do the job . Feliz año nuevo 2024 🎉

You can also use Bick 4 conditioner. It won’t darken the leather. The boots look great, you should get a pair of the black harness 8084’s.

I do have Bick4 conditioner (I got it when I bought a leather cowboy hat)! Black boots are cool too!

Thanks for the kind word! Yes I just texted my family and a friend who's in the area. They are fine! I hope everyone is ok too. It sucks that the huge earthquake is hitting Japan in the new year.

I've not used the red wing leather conditioner myself. However, all the conditioners I've seen and used are safe to use with your hands. Your books are looking great ❤

Oh good to know! My hands were ok but the conditioner says to use a piece of cloth when you apply it to boots, and I wasn't sure if it was right way. Thanks! Yeah I love the way my boots look!

I think you did a great job, there’s really nothing much to it. Just my advice, try minimizing the use of the RW cleaner since it will strip down your boot oil and would look uneven unless you like that look. Since there was little suds so it did not penetrate all that much. The boot brush should be your go to. Just brush them every each use and your boot will thank you for it.

Thanks! Yeah I felt the amount water was also too much! I think I only need a little water and the cleaner. Will try to be careful next time. Brush is great! I mostly just rub my boots with it and they look good enough

Your boots look great even before the cleaning! You are less abusive to your boots than I. I saw your short earlier today and I had to clean mine as well. Knowing what I know now, I would not use the cleaning solution again. It removed quite a bit of the color and dried out the leather a bit on my iron rangers. Just going to use water from now on.

Yeah it was not too badly worn out yet, just had some scuffs and wrinkles. I just wanted to get them fully ready for the new year so I won't have to clean them anytime soon. That's bummer! I will keep that in mind. I used the cleaner and it was ok this time, though.

When I went to the store to try on and buy my pair of IR I was looking to get the Copper Rough and Tough but they didn't have my size. I also really liked the Amber but I thought I wanted the copper. Definitely super happy with the amber though, it's a beautiful leather, and I love the character it picks up with nicks and scrapes, not sure the copper would show as much so early.

@@cradd7108 Same! They didn't have the size 6 (7 was the smallest they had in store). I just measured my feet there and ordered the size 6 online. Glad you like amber too!
