I never would have guessed that Japan is so diverse in its geography. I’d love to learn more about the food in the different regions. In one of your videos, you talked about planning meals that have something from the mountains, another from the sea and so on. I’d love to hear more about this.
Thank you so much enlightening us. Very well done would be interesting in more. My Japanese exchange students never told us how beautiful. They were very interested in our culture. Thank you
As a little girl, I was blessed to live in my mother's native land Japan. We primarily lived at a military base in Yokota. But my grandparents lived in Sapporo. This video brought back so many wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks a lot for such a video! I love your style, and all the supporting illustrations you provide. I'm here not only for the recipes themselves, but rather for education, so I personally will be absolutely excited if you choose to make more videos on Japanese culture and nature. How they influence each other, and the cuisine, of course. This might help in cooking more thoughtfully and appreciating the country as a tourist more deeply. Hope to visit Japan some day.. Thank you once again, regards from Russia!
wow, a Russian audience!! thank YOU for visiting my channel!! spasiba! i will make more of these videos, especially since in Japan the culture and nature are strongly connected with the cuisine. Thanx for your insights! I would be so glad, if you could share my channel/vidos with your friends!!
Thank you for making this high quality video! It’s my first time seeing a video explaining about Japan’s geography and its correlation with Japanese culture. Could you make a video about Japan’s geography and its impact to Japanese cuisine? Thanks a lot 🤗
glad you like the content!! thats a good idea! ill see if I can incorporate that in my next video of Japanese food, or make another video only on that!! thanx so much for the idea!
Wonderful video. I hope to travel to and across Japan over several months to experience the full breadth of the culture, the geography, and the weather.
I came to this video after watching the one on Japanese house and it is worth viewing it ! I’ll now will watch some of your recipe videos and hope I’ll learn as many things as in those two previous videos. Congratulations !
This was a great informative presentation! It did make me laugh though when there was happy music playing while you talked about mass destruction and natural disasters 😂 but I really did enjoy this video, thank you!
thank you for your comment!! oh, really... I actually don't do the tying (tasuki-gake), since I don't do any work. its a way to roll up the sleeves. hmmm, ill have to think about that. but thanx for the insight!!
This was great! The "home cooking" aspect of your channel is why I am here, to learn how every day Japanese live. This video fits very well with the home food theme. I would love to learn about how different areas have different foods and culture. Start with your home and tell us all about your life there. When I lived in Romania I discovered everyone thought America is like in the movies, and it's not! I am sure we see Japan the same way, as like in the movies.
I am from the Caribbean and I have been studying Japanese for the past 7 months. Your video was very helpful and awesome and I for one would appreciate more like it. I also love your cooking videos. Awesome content!
My favorite Japanese season is winter. It's so beautiful. The shopping is great. And outdoors onsens are best when it's cold and snowy out. There is noting like sitting in onsen while getting snowed on.
Loved this video. We are to hike there next year and you've provided great information easy tour video about your parents home. You helped explain so much about the differences and how I would respect a Japanese home.
I was lucky to travel from Tokyo to Saporo in train with many stops back in March 2017. Probably the best discovery trip I ever had. Your country is a treasure as well as the kindness or Japonese people. I think this is my favorite video from you so far
Just found your channel and I am in love already. Every country should get a video like this. also would love to know more about your culture and history.
Wow, wonderful video, it was so much that I didn’t know. I love to learn about words concept, it tells so much about the culture. Shouganai-mentality was knew for me and so interesting! Japanese culture is so interesting. I am knew to the channel, have subscribed 👍! I would love to see a video about religion in Japan but I will look and se if you have already made one. Thank you for the video.
I may be very late to this party....VERY LATE...but I'd love more cultural vids along with the food, please! Maybe a pronunciation guide, too? (I can barely pronounce the language I grew up speaking Texas English, so that'd be a big help!)
I loved this video! I just happened to run across your video touring your home. I think the house design is fabulous and smart--more forward-thinking than here in the U.S. I would love to have a Japanese bathing room! It would solve a lot of my issues with my disability. I also like the kitchen design very much--I am a pescatarian so it would be perfect for me. I love learning and have always admired Japan, so when this video popped up to watch at the end of the house tour, I watched it also! A lot of very interesting information in a short amount of time, which is good for busy people of today, a very smart, well made video. And so much beauty!! Sadly, my traveling days are over--I had Japan on my list but never made it there. I would love to see Japan now more than ever! Especially in Fall, Winter, and Spring! I was pausing on several points of interest, the tectonic plates was one, and the surrounding underwater topography. It looks to me like the Sea of Japan could be a very ancient impact site, hit by a large mass of space debris of some kind. I loved the video, so I will subscribe to see what you make in the future! You are good at this!
This was so interesting and informative, thank you so much, Taiji! Looking forward to seeing you explaining more on the topic of Japan’s history next time! ❤
Wow, thank you for sharing. I find your videos wonderfully informative (and I'm kinda sad I only just recently discovered your channel). I would love to learn more about Japanese culture, including learning more about Shintoism and Buddhism of Japan.
I am loving your channel. I have been watching it for a few days straight now! It would be so cool if you made more videos about culture and history. Maybe make a video for each of the festivals? Anyway, thank you for sharing 😁
Fantastic content! Recently I found myself strangely attracted to Japan and its culture so I'm really happy to dive in into your channel. I also hope to be able to visit Japan in the future.
This (geography) and history has a great influence on the food so this is great especially for people who don’t live in Japan. Lived in Tokyo for 7 years
Amazing video! I want to visit Japan for a year and thanks for the all in information with the seasons, it looks like there will be much to see with the seasons
Hi Taiji. I haven’t written in quite some time but just watched this video and really enjoyed it. I wish I could figure out a way to visit Japan and see the whole length of the country. I truly enjoy when you share your Japanese culture along with your cooking videos. If you know anything about Aino culture and history, I would love to hear more. Only blessings for you my friend.
Greatly appreciated Information about Japan, especially from a Japanese. I hope to visit Japan one day,in Autumn,to admire the beautiful colors of the trees. God Bless you.
glad you liked the video! will make more of these!! any ideas or requests? the type of maple tree we have, Momiji, do not produce the sweet fluid, so unfortunately no.
Hi Taji! I loved this video. I'm Brazilian, my great-grandparents were from different regions: my grandfather's family came from Totori on the coast and my grandmother's family came from Nagano, a mountainous region. here in Brazil we have one of the largest Japanese colonies outside of Japan. your videos are great, thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much I watch a lot of different videos on Japan and the culture is very complex in it self. I want to come visit someday im trying to have everything covered. So, im not disrespectful or rude and not meaning to be. I just started watching your channel and you make it much easier for me to understand the "whys" to how things are done.
Amazing video! I love to know more about different cultures and I believe food also is ultimately just a tiny piece of a specific culture. Thanks for your great contents =)
What an informative video !! Thanks for sharing these details. It is sad that many people have to live under the stress of so many natural disasters!! My homeland was known as Mesopotamia, and we have so many resources and beautiful weather, and not to mention great food 🙂 and sceneries... Fortunately, rarely any natural disasters, except some bad humans 🤔
your welcome! glad you like my video! as you say some land is more blessed than the other, but as I say in the video, the disasters make up who we are as Japanese and they make us also stronger and diligent folk. so we don't complain about what the gods decides to do and instead be stronger to withstand them.
@@taijiskitchen That's awesome ❤️ I give so much credit to your people, considering the rough environment, you managed o work with what little you got and appreciate it. People in the middle east think highly of the Japanese people for sticking to traditions, humble life style, and still appreciate hard work toward improvements. Many Arabs don't call your homeland a "country", but call it a "Planet" because they think of you as out of this world with your technologies and think of quality over quantity.
I just wish there was a geography video of Japan that didn't talk about earthquakes and tsunamis.. like, this takes a bunch of the video away when we could be learning about the specific prefecture landscapes, terrain and flora! Like, bro, I swear, we all over the world know that there are lots of earthquakes, someone would have to live under a rock not to know that.
Hi Taiji, Wow! I enjoyed the video of geography and what to expect from the seasons when you visit Japan. I would like to know the history of the different types of clothing styles?
oh, Japanese history is sooooo long and soooo interesting. I am planning to make it someday, but will take time, cuz I wanna du justice to the content (and also to my ancestors!) but thanx for the request!
Great intro to the geography - I look forward immensely to if/when you have a chance to get into fresh ingredients that are influenced by the regional biodiversity and microclimates. I made a point of getting apples while in Shinshuu with my mum because, even before I got to Japan, I had heard that that was the region famous for them. They were both huge and delicious.
great to hear you liked the video! im planing to make the next of these presentational video on Japanese food, and there I would talk about regional foods. oh ya, those Shinshu apples are so delicious! I love them too!
@@taijiskitchen I look forward to it. I've been exploring making Daifuku, Nerikiri and making Karintou from scratch and with what rice flours are available here in Australia (mainly Thai - one day I'll source a real mochiko...)
i love your videos. your programs are very intersting and well made. i do enjoy them. ould you please tell us more about Japanese family? how childrenare brough up, about husband-wife relationship, mentality of people, approach to things, and on and on... all about family. when you get married. how many kids you usually have etc :) thank you
I searched on google map but no kukiland came up 🤔 maybe it should be haothuland and there has been no historical record of any kukiland helping shubash chandra bose and INA but i did find meitei and naga people of manipur helping them and i think you are refering yourself to the chin state of myanmar 🇲🇲 not of india your information is severely misinformed
