In the summer of 2023, TuneCore announced a project to cover the famous song "Hanamizuki". New versions of "Hanamizuki" were created and released by many artists, including song replacements, remixes, and instrumental versions using ethnic music, rap, guitar, and other instruments.
As I had been thinking since the summer about what kind of arrangement to make, I learned that the song was written by "Yo Hitoto" in memory of a person who died shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York leaving behind her beloved child. So this time, I decided to lean on the piano alone to convey those important lyrics in the most straightforward way. For the remix, we used Pro tools and placed a single piano in the middle of the stage in a large hall with no seating, making it seem as if "Yo Hitoto" was singing from the heart. I also used photos and videos from creators around the world to visualize one virtual story I felt I could tell, and I would be happy if you could listen to it on RU-vid or other distribution sites.
