It’s always interesting to visit the morning fish market in Japan’s small coastal towns. It’s street food galore, grilling and simmering caldrons of crab miso soup! This one in Teradomari is quite interesting with some street food!

Getting there was not easy but well worth the effort. Niigata City has so much to offer especially touring some of the best sake breweries.

It was a trip indeed! Going back, I left from TSUBAME SANJO which is famous for cooking ware and metal goods. Got a nice Japanese metal drinking cup!

I’m here around the Nihombashi area, do you guys know what time the last trains usually stop? I really want to experience a bar out here in Japan but I’m worried that i won’t be able to get to my train on time once the alcohol has kicked in AND it can be a bit confusing in certain stations.

@@lbabe1996Midnight or you'll be sleeping in the JR station till it reopens. Drunken Japanese businessmen do.

So cool to see the photo of John showing visiting Dan from "What's Inside" what's inside Okonomiyaki. Interesting to learn the friendship has spanned the many years that Dan and now 18 year-old son Lincoln have together shared reveals on their "What's Inside" RU-vid channel. Maybe we will eventually get to see the emergence of another father-son duo as Leo joins in with John on his Japan adventures? The father-son(s) formula seems to be working well for my friend Luke Nichols here in Alaska with his successful "Outdoor Boys" RU-vid channel.

John even though that fish market is probably average by Japanese standards, I think I would be hard pressed to find anything like it the US. I finishing this one in measured doses, but I know I’ll really enjoy it. Thank you!

I haven’t been here for years, last time was a bus tour to the Sea of Japan, hey what’s the local Shinkansen station to the markets?
@onlyinjapanGO
@onlyinjapanGO 9 месяцев назад
Ah, probably closest from TSUBAME SANJO but NAGAOKA is also close, this is in the middle. Between Sanjo and Nagaoka is 10 min Shinkansen ride so not too far.

I am allergic to shellfish, so aside from the fish, I cannot eat any of the spread. 😭 I used to be able to eat all the seafood, but somewhere along the way, I became allergic. 😢

Have to chew and crunch a lot. The grilling makes it brittle. Loads of natural calcium, vitamins but can’t eat it like this often 😂

No, Japanese dinner is not more like dinner. That's the kind of food Asians eat for breakfast - savory food. The practice of eating sugary food for breakfast is a western thing, especially in the US, which is usually very unhealthy.

why do Japan always uses those filthy butane torches to make pseudo grilled food? I get that it may be a lot cheaper than using charcoal but they also have that electric grill that they wont use like you showed in the beginning. You're Japanese, uphold your dignity.

Just tone down the theatrics. You’ve been in Japan for over 20 years and have eaten a prawn before but yet you’re doing the tarantula in Thailand spiel. That’s so 1992 dude.
