Fascinating footage. Seems to be from the Philippines and the final days of American and Filipino formal formations. The Filipinos put on a determined and vital resistance with very little assistance during the worst days of 1942 and 1943, before things finally started to turn around.
The days when we Filipinos faced 4 years of death and torture in the hands of the japanese. More than 50,000 Filipino combatants and 983,278 Filipino civilians died in japanese invasion and occupation.
Wish I knew what he was saying, location, just a bit more. Yeah, it’s propaganda but there’s not much from the Japanese once they started seriously losing.
From the Japanese perspective, December 1942 was still the "fun and games" phase of WWII. I wonder how many of these soldiers ever made it back to Japan.
