Omurice was invented in the 19th century. Well, it may be strong to say invented, but it is remixed from some Western dishes at the time due to the European colonial expansion
@@HenritheHorse he made "healthier" school lunches and got the uk government to change what foods schools were allowed to serve as part of a campaign with fit4life i think it was called with the playdough characters. In short he got rid of a lot of kids' favourite foods and more kids started taking packed lunches instead and despite the foods being healthier there were issues of food quality and it didnt really actually help with the child obesity epidemic. A lot of people in the uk despise him for this, including me.
@@Ben-xf1ym I honestly wasn’t sure. I don’t say that to be mean. I really thought it was an older unattractive woman, but the comment section had me second guessing myself.
nah nah nah, you're not allowed to roast Yukimura-San, he's the gentle most sweetest uncle out there 😭 he's always putting smiles on customers faces even though he's really tired, he really cares about his customers and fan base
For anyone wondering what the restaurant is called, it’s Kichi Kichi Omurice. Although you do need to make a reservation beforehand, it’s also quite expensive. Just a little heads up for anyone that is planning to travel to Kyoto Japan for the Omurice there.
Also, the reservations open a month in advance and run out almost instantly every time...even in the middle of bloody winter. You can TRY to wait for an open spot, but it may take hours...or never.
@Cracksmoker123 The omelette uncle! He greets his customers like that one uncle who takes in you after you've had a fight with your parents and makes delicious foods!
That chef is the genuinely nicest person, I've seen him on at least 4 different youtube channels now and he really tries to take time to talk with everyone
@@saimaidar9417 Nah, he'll be fine. He'll keep making terrible food at restaurants that fold after a weekend, while criticising how the rest of us feed our kids.
Hes not only a super friendly guy, but he is a master of masters of a chef. Hes enjoying the hell out of himself too. Wish we had chefs like him around me lol.
Man is he master chef class or just a master chef Bec either way to split that egg with just a toss takes more skill than spinning a basketball on the tip of a rocket god Danm
This chef is such a sweet person. His cooking is incredible and very delicious. If y'all have a chance to go to Japan, his restaurant (Kichi Kichi Omurice, Kyoto) is a must visit.
He can proceed to roast westerners attempting Asian dishes, but hell no should he try to even comment on this Japanese guy making omurice. This man is the best in making omurice.
Chef Motokichi is the most wholesome and entertaining culmination of Japanese hospitality! I imagine a collab with Uncle Roger would be freaking amazing! 😆😆
