May 26th was the closing day of Ito-Yokado Koriyama store. When this store closes, we will completely withdraw from Fukushima Prefecture.
At the closing ceremony, the store manager gave a speech and expressed his regret that the closing was due to company policy, not due to an earthquake or other disaster or the coronavirus, and other employees seemed to be holding back tears.
Also, after the greetings, the applause from the citizens continued without stopping.
I thought the applause that lasted this long was rare even in the closing ceremonies I've seen.
