Japanese Sweet Potato (Goguma 고구마) | How To Cook | Perfectly Gooey & Caramelized

There are so many ways to cook Japanese yams, but I wanted to share how to prepare this food in what I've found to be THE most mouth-watering, tastiest way. Goguma always reminds me of visiting my auntie's house and smelling the enticing aroma as I enter the front door. Since I live far away from her, I love enjoying these the way she makes them, and I think of her whenever I eat them.
In the video, I wanted to show you the finished product. However, it's best to allow the potatoes to cool down in the oven (crack open the door when you turn off your oven); let them cool for at least 15 minutes and enjoy them cold for the benefits of resistant starch!
Leftovers, should you have them, can be kept refrigerated for up to a week! They freeze wonderfully, too; just wrap in heavy duty aluminum foil to freeze.
Japanese sweet potatoes are SO good - packed full of healthy fiber, vitamins and antioxidants that feed the skin and nourish the insides. Enjoy!

I was wondering if you could do a video explaining why you do intermittent fasting and the benefits behind it? I’ve been doing it on and off, but have been mostly consistent, for 5 months now and lost a substantial amount of weight. I used to have a binge eating disorder, but now I only eat when I’m hungry which isn’t very often. I’ve noticed a lot of downsides too, mainly feeling malnourished and having low energy. My stomach has become very sensitive too. This could also have to do with the fact that I’m a vegetarian so perhaps I’m not getting the proper vitamins and nutrients. Lately I’ve gone back to eating more consistently throughout the day, but I also love to just drink green tea in the mornings which helps a lot. I’m only 18 and have a lot to learn so I would love to here your insight on this topic.

Hi Jennifer, I have a question regarding tretoin. After a lot of research, mostly because of your extremely helpful video's Ive decided to start my retinA journey. I have never used any kind of retinA so my big question is; Can I immediatly start using pure retin A? (starting with the lowest percentage ofcourse, while slowly working my way up) OR do you recommand letting my skin get used to retinol / differin first? I have been reading too many different opinions.. So confused :( How did you start out? Ps. Im 28 and wanting to use retin A for hyperpigmentation, redness PLUS anti aging, but mostly red scarring on my face that have been there for literally years.. Hoping to hear from you, with kind regards from Amsterdam :)
@JenniferMyers
@JenniferMyers 4 года назад
Hi! To give some context -- I started my Retin-A journey at a young age (21, 22) because my uncle (who is a dermatologist) and my auntie wanted their niece (me) to have nice skin in my adulthood. Koreans as an ethnic group are very forward thinking, always thinking to the future and big picture, so I'm very grateful they were looking ahead for me. I had two options, as explained to me by my uncle. I chose to start straight in with 0.05% tretinoin cream (I currently use gel because I prefer it, but I started with the cream). I applied it once per week to start; did that for two weeks, and then I gradually increased to every third night, and eventually every other night, then nightly (over a long period of many months). I wanted results, so I did it this way. My side effects were quite severe/harsh as a result. If you don't wish to endure such severe side effects, I can suggest starting with an introductory over the counter retinoid such as adapalene (Differin) gel 0.1% or something like CeraVe Retinol Serum or Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair with Retinol SA. These products will introduce your skin to retinoid without it being prescription strength, and once your skin is acclimated to it, you may move on to prescription tretinoin (like what I use, for example). There is a balance to be struck between results and having to go through unpleasant effects while trying to obtain said results. I did it the way I did because frankly I didn't care -- I wanted glossy clear skin and I was going to get it! I'm very intense lol but it's not for everyone. It does require patience and going through discomfort for many months. Things get much worse before they get better, which sucks. But ultimately, I couldn't be happier with my results and wouldn't change a single thing. If I were you, I'd start with an over the counter retinol. I really like Differin. I've used it, and I love it. It's an excellent product. I even used it on the backs of my arms to treat my keratosis pilaris, which it cleared it up completely. Good luck

Hi and thank you ❤️ I’m sorry but I cannot speak to not can I give advice on dark circles as I’ve never experienced this issue. I believe that is largely a hereditary issue. The only thing I can think of is that I do get adequate sleep and I also practice stress reduction (meditation) every single day, which I’m sure helps.
