Actually if youve been on a ship it is quite hard to sometimes tell which way the ship is turning by just looking if there is no lights. Can take a short time of watching before you can understand which way. They are idiots still which doesnt help.

@@BeansAndWeens i’m not sure. I’ve seen The leader of this organization pick on fully armed Soviet war ships, Norwegian helicopters, Denmark Navy, and security vessels from Japan. Plus, they have refurbished World War II destroyer escorts for this fleet which were enough to dissuade the Yamato in full naval assault. From this World War II historian, it’s all about the tactics.😉

Air support certainly lead to the death of the battleship but the air superiority really wasn’t there in the battles against the Yamato. In the battle for the Philippines for example, taffy three was only supported by jeep carriers which could only launch a few hundred wildcat fighters and Douglas bombers. Both of which were not extremely effective against any of the heavy vessels in the task force led by the Yamato. It was the intrepid and barely armored destroyer escorts and the chaos caused by those few hundred pilots which sewed enough confusion to turn the entire task force around. Battleships have always had this Achilles tendon with their large guns with ships and planes that were too small or too maneuverable to hit. Musashi unlike the Yamato suffered the classic defeat by air support. Passion mixed with proper strategy is how you defeat large naval vessels.

It's not for a lack of trying though. They crashed one of their boats with nearest help (including the whalers, mind you!) being 12 hours away, they stranded a small boat crew on an iceberg because they smashed the engine, they boarded a foreign nation's ship at least twice, they collided with ships bigger than their own multiple times, they throw acid bottles onto decks where people work, they lack an understanding of the wind so some of them land on themselves, they tried to swamp the engine of a ship *days* from shore with their water canon which they had to know would be problematic with that ships rations even if it was towed as fast as possible... I could go on, but you get the point. They are willing to kill and be killed (and waste millions in funding while doing so) for not even making a dent in the japanese whaling numbers. On the contrary, Japan decided that if they have the hussle anyway, they might as well resume comercial whaling in full, which they did in 2018.

They basically sail around and cause the whaling ships minor inconveniences until the Sea Shepherds vessels eventually get destroyed.
