Toyota landcruiser 60 series 85 2h A very facking determent Swedish backpacker and a winch. Quote "In any case, don't walk in the middle of Jardine - people have been taken by crocs here and I have seen crocs in this river myself. "
What a smooth recovery operation by an obviously well drilled team. Fair dinkum, why is with river crossings, all too often people are not prepared or else just so slow? Hopefully all went well and the guys had a good trip.
+Bill Blinky I heard that you shouldn't go faster than the wave in front of you but I guess that you need to drive a little bit faster when the sand i super soft as it was here. The whole recovery looks a little bit slow in a situation like this but I had to find a good tempo where i'm not stressing up my self to much and starting to do mistakes. I've seen another clip when some guy makes it by going upstreams first then kind of crossing it on an angle downstreams.
+tehpwn3dlife Cheers for the reply mate. It looks like it all went okay in the end, so that's the main thing. I've watched quite a few RU-vid clips about that very same crossing on the Jardine, and it certainly appears to be a tricky situation. It's tricky in that you seem okay for a while and then you suddenly hit super soft sand, and then I'm told after that there's a deep hole just before the shore. This trip is one I have planned for the future, and we will do it as a convoy from my local 4x4 club. Hopefully the experienced hands in the club will ensure it all goes well. Meantime thanks for the video and keep on enjoying yourselves fellas and don't lose your sense of adventure. Stay safe. Happy trails.
