Fun fact: the bees didn't translate to film, so they wound up having to use CG bees in the final cut. Meaning the real bees were useless, and they got stung for nothing!
Tiffany Malm What we saw in the episode was special effects. They ended up having to use them because the actual bees didn't show up on camera. So basically they all got stung for nothing lol
I love jared, he is such a good story teller I could sit there all day and listen to him tell stories. Poor jared though he got stung, and I bet he was embarresed. He's such adorable

Here's the REAL stinger: The bees didn't show up well enough on camera, so they had to CGI them anyhow. Man, if I were J2, I'd have been sooooo pissed off. But Kim Manners (RIP) was a genius. He didn't make that many bad calls. The only other "bad call" I know about K. Manners is in "Lazarus Rising" S4E1. Manners insisted on using real glass in the gas station scene with Jensen where the windows explode. Jensen got cut to PIECES. Those scars in that EP were real. There was one on his arm you see several episodes later, still healing. Still, if there's anyone I wish we could resurrect, it'd be Manners. He and Ben Edlund, hands down, did the best work on SPN and made it the reason fans have just stuck with it. They built a solid foundation so even the crappy stuff we get on occasion doesn't faze us much.
