It's really nice baked, or add whatever flavorings you want and cook in a covered vessel in a pressure cooker. Also, all the rain you had may have made it more soft. Color of the flesh is usually orange like a pumpkin.

Did you try letting it cure for 10 to 15 days before eating once you harvest?

No, it sat for three days after harvest.

No, it is not starchy. It is a lot softer, easier to peel, and falls apart easier than the kabocha squash.

Thank you for the question. It was my first time planting this variety, I wasn't sure what to look for. But over time I noticed the stem drying out and the vine dying back, that's when I did my first harvest and it was good.
