Look, we love weird commercials from the 70s, 80s, 90s, early 200s and Hell, there is an ad or two, even superbowl ads that came out as recent as 2023 that we think are hilarious. However, this is so cringe this may as well be a parody seen in some compilation of funniest, weirdest commercials. We give our reaction to this and whether you out there typing in "Jerry Curl" or "Jerri curl", you probably have NOT come across the Jarrel curl but today you will!

Found the full commercial on RU-vid, and one of the commenters said 2 years ago "...He was my Uber driver and kicked me down so much knowledge. He’s 69 years old and in immaculate shape." The juice kept him strong.

This was definitely in St. Louis lmfao. We had all kinds of wild low budget commercials here back in the 80’s-early 2000’s. Jarrell’s was at the corner of Walton Ave. and Delmar Blvd. It was demolished a long time ago and there’s something else there now.

There is a whole documentary about this commercial and the owner. This is St. Louis. He died in the 90's I believe but he was a pioneer in the field of cosmology. He had the game on lock!

Ive had them all , Relaxers wth activater, hair curlers over night with a shower cap, except I wasnt drippy like you claim. With relaxer your hair needs activater to stay soft and bouncy, you dont need to over soak it like comedy skits claim cause honestly if you get it to wet it will ruin the perm. Or you could just use curl gel which most men did. Then you apply oil sheen which you can get with none drip or mist spray for shine, its looks wet but really isnt , just oily when touched. The reason for everyone looking what you call greezy is cause some perms retains heat causing your forhead to sweat alot, thats not juice its just sweat, you didn't see Ice Cube with a shiny face, but thats only like the first week or so after getting the perm. And no one had it all of there body now come on, if it got in your eyes it burned like hell, you could use oil sheen like pepper spray and its harder to was out. Just another Black stereotype in my book. I grewup with 3 family members who owned hair salons and now this for a fact. Even when you see someone hair dripping, itd more then likely there hair is sweatimg out, not soaked in activater or oil sheen, that means time for a new perm or wash that shit out and go soft fro. One of the best things about being black was all the things we could do with our hair no one else could .

Used to love this horrifying commercial 😂 The wave nouveau, though not as iconic, replaced the jheri curl bc the jheri curl was to greasy. Basically, the wave nouveau is a "dry" jheri curl. Having said that, Michael Jackson had the BEST jheri curl, the only one that looked good. Deion Sanders had a good one too.

Am I the only person who still does Carefree Gold curl activator with the red top. If you are not careful then it will get all over your wood furniture and stain it😊
