I remember becoming the youngest supervisor at Titleist golf (at the ball manufacturing plant)in MA in 1983, having to supervise a bunch of old timers with years of seniority and expertise on their jobs (mixing rubber, molding, finishing, etc.). I was green to the process and i knew the only way to lead them was to first gain their respect. I did that by never acting above them, i shadowed each job until i understood it, asking questions (many stupid questions) - by doing these things i learned the little aggregations and kinks related their individual jobs. many of these issues were easy to fix as a supervisor. I retired 32 years later in 2017. had a great career there. Moral: If you shot Titleist balls in between those years. they were some damn good Massachusetts made golf balls!!!

The more I have listen to chase Sexton over these last couple of weeks especially I am really impressed with this guys attitude and the way his mind works and seems to me like he’s got a good head on his shoulders I think the things that he’s really focused on are the right things so I am expecting big stuff from Chase

It’s not often you hear an athlete at his level going into that detail as to why they where under performing, hopefully many podiums this year now 😎

Spot on discussion with leadership. Chase will improve relations and communications with maturity. People want to help you succeed when they are bought in, but it is all about communications. You can be assertive and diplomatic.

Leadership is like a game of checkers, you can not win the game with only one king. Every piece of your life needs guidance and help to become their own king in order to win

Being around good leadership also really helps for development of your own personal career. When you're around negative co-workers it can be hard to grow.

He was young in reference to becoming a leader of anything in this world, he said the right things though so seems like he's already pass the initial dissonance of doing something for the first time.

Chase needs to watch the Michael Schumacher documentary. Best racing movie I’ve ever seen that’s actually about leadership.

I left a job because of bad leadership, never really worked for bad leadership before that, they were clueless that leadership was even a skill and just thought it was a position, which in their case(s) was essentially given and not really earned, expected employees to train for skills only they as employers would benefit from on free time, or take work home off the clock while being non-salary with mediocre pay (basically room and board), while requiring both a college degree, and experience, while they didn't put in the extra work on even learning basic leadership skills, instead taking extra long vacations. I hope I never work for a small business or for such ignorance again after that experience.

Hang on to a bit of that inner A-hole. It helps to ensure you don't get walked on in life. It also is part of the fuel that propels you forward.

Chase, you will learn to coordinate and allow your team to aid in your performance. When you figure that out you will be on top. You already have the bike skills, you just need the people skills. It all comes with maturity. This is going to be a big year indoors. Stay with-in your limits, get good jumps off the gate and the rest will come. "Robot auto pilot". No pressure just do what your capable of. Reminder, Houston 2 last year. Not the crash, the pure raw super fast robot speed. It comes natural to you.with out that mishap you you'd have lapped the field.Good luck 2022 SX. Put it up front. STARTS!!!

Good to see a side of chase that shows maturity and ownership. I thought chase was kinda quiet on the fan side when he got to the 450s but when he was on the 250s I saw the asshole part that he was talking about. There was alot of cockiness in my view where I felt like he was better than everyone . Mainly his opponents. Couple of his racing interviews after battles with Austin Forkner were kinda cringe. That being said he is a great rider and I hope he is learning a lot from the people of team Honda n Kenny roczen.

Hold the phone buddy all you do is give advice to people on this show even when they don’t want it. You said you dont give advice to people who are killing it then in the same breath you say take the advice if you want.
