This is the last song that my son and I was listening to in the car before he passed away in November 2019. I will cherish this memory forever. I like to think that my sweet handsome son is in heaven chillin on a dirt road swerving like George Jones smoke rolling out the window, cold beer sitting in the console R.I.P Matt momma loves you and misses you everyday 😢

Jason, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. This song and "Clover Cage - Summer Of Love" are the two songs that helped overcome my depression. I just want everyone to know things do get better, and they will! We are in this together. I love you ❤️

This song reminds me of my brother. When we went off-roading all hours of the day/night, and if we got stuck that just meant we got to drink, and listen to music while we spent God knows how long trying to get un-stuck. It reminds me of all the bob fires and bush parties, drifting country roads, river floating, and just the euphoric, free feeling you get from country music, and living a life of passion 💕

I moved back to Texas because of this song. I heard this song when I was 16 and it made me miss Texas so much, I was living in California at the time. I knew I wasn't going to get the dirt road experience living in California and I craved it so much I moved back to Texas and got exactly what this song describes 🥰 I'm so glad I moved back. His own natural drawl, cadence, enunciation doesn’t have to be altered, so his timing is spot-on & he doesn’t over sing it or concentrate too hard while singing it. Tone is never thin/weak/tense, always rich & relaxed, so he’s comfortable & confident singing it, never timid or shaky, which makes it sound natural, effortless, easy. Song fits him & his natural abilities & range to the letter, which is why it’s his best one as far as performance goes.

so growing up in California I never liked country music I moved out to Oklahoma when I was 13 I lived in a small country town still didn't like country music met some really amazing people out there one of my best friends listen to country and always would try to get me to listen to it and I would always change the channel but at the time this song came out I had moved back to California and it had been living back out here for 5 years listening to the song for the first Time Hit me hard cuz I never liked country but this song reminded me of my country home and all my friends and family out in Oklahoma so of course the song had to be played at my best friend's funeral a year after this song came out still to this day this song hits me hard bring me back to all my good times I had with my best friend out in Oklahoma I hate listening to this song at the same time I love listening to it i love and miss you brother

I came here from watching The Cartier Family (love them btw) react to "Try That In A Small Town" They started out their video with all 4 singing this together. This song made me get Small Town All The more. Jason is just singing about his friends and life and how they grow up and live watching out for everyone from the babies to the old folks. My take anyway. I never really knew much about country music. I just may become a country fan yet. I Love Jason's Voice. I love TTIAST.
