I work as a deputy sheriff and we have a couple small towns in my county that don't have a town cop. One night I responded to call of a drunk man trying to break into his ex-girlfriends house. Long story short, I ended up getting in a fight with the suspect on the side of the road at 1 a.m. and the suspect tried to take my gun. A lifted truck just happened to be driving by when they suddenly stopped and three guys got out and pinned the suspect down while I cuffed him. Then, they just hopped in their truck and left. No one needed to document the incident on camera. They didn't have to think about what was the right thing to do. They saw a need and met it. Love my community.

Thank you so much for what you do. I’ve often thought how hard it must be to see people at their personal lowest, and on the worst day of their lives, so often. I think about the things you must have seen. I think about the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, school nurses, ER Physicians, Nurses, etc. - first ones on crime scenes; taking care of a drugged out drunk person’s injuries, while the family his recklessness just killed are in the next room; seeing hungry and neglected children. PTSD is a real thing. Thank you, again, for your dedication and bravery. I pray for you all.

I’m a black woman who wouldn’t have to worry about “trying it in a small town” bc that crap never would’ve gotten past my house!! My grandparents, mom, dad, uncles, aunts, minister, & pretty much any adult in our community would’ve straightened me out real quick!!! Also, I have a huge extended family of men who hunted, fished, went to church, & worked hard to keep a roof over their family’s head & food on the table!! We were protected by God & Smith n Wesson!! Couple of things about me….I am Canadian and I’m a grandmother of 4. First off, Jason you have done nor said anything racist in this song. As far as I’m concerned this was great publicity for you and I’m glad I took the time to listen to the lyrics…..you’re a proud American, nothing wrong with that. When you speak the truth you are naturally going to “offend” someone but you are bang on here. Cities are filled with the highest level of evil, not saying small towns don’t have it, they just aren’t inclined to be as stupid as those in the cities…..because of repercussions. Most people will admit the world has gone crazy since Covid but that doesn’t mean we should stop respecting others, appreciate others and love others. We’re all different in some ways, even the woke generation, but that doesn’t mean we should trash them for that reason…..they are humans and deserve more than the abuse they are taking. This song is 💯 Recently living in a small town of Arizona after living in the city, A owner of the liquor store/market of the small town was robbed and he was shot right after opening even when he complied. The whole town came together and shared his picture and the story. The guy was found within a couple hours. Because of the commitment and heartbreak of the small town. I've come to see this guy that was murdered was a staple of our community..someone who loved with his whole heart and gave as much as he can to help others and this guy had a family, a wife and babies. After his death the small town came together and threw fundraisers and vigils.❤

I get that you’re equating these lyrics to “black people”, but that’s not it. You’re wrong, you’re believing the hype. For example, at least half of blm were white. That’s the truth! It’s not about color! I’m sick of that crap. It’s about being a better American! Try that shit in my small town! Would not be good! Treat people with respect and have some dignity, ethic and work hard for your dreams! That’s it! It’s that easy! Everyday when you come to that fork of right or wrong just do right! You will love & respect yourself for it! We all have good in us we just have to use it! I’d like to see. These idiots try to come take my Grandfather’s gun it will be a bad deal. That gun hasn’t fired in 40 years but it was his and he gave it to me as a kid and anyone who thinks they can take I encourage you to try but your gonna have to plug a few holes if you make it out! Do you in the city and we will do us in the small communities.

My local radio station took the song off the air last month but “quietly” put it back on because they couldn’t deny how much of a good song this really is
