5:32 "My father once told me If something looks like shit and smells like shit you don't have to taste it to know that it's shit" LOL that really got me
I would love to see another Supermassive Games game where Jason and Salim reunite and team up again. This storyline where two enemy combatants ended up forging a friendship for life, is one of the best narratives I have ever seen. This was a great effort by all involved. House of Ashes 10/10.
not sure if theyd do the same characters again, but itd be cool to find some memento about what happened to them in a future game! like a random pic of them together or a letter as a collectible easter egg
@@princessgotchi I know that it is highly unlikely the characters will be in a future game, but I can always dream. lol. I like your Easter Egg idea. I hope the developers realise how popular these two are, and make some sort of reference to them in a future game. :-)
Unfortunately it's heavily implied at the end that everybody who survived - including Salim if you don't get the ending where he escapes before air support gets there - is going to, "disappear" so I doubt there's going to be a happy reunion.
@@ItsHaisho You have a good point. If Jason survives, he deserts the military. He had the right idea, but he will be hunted by his own side after surviving those vampires. :-( Hopefully, the survivors' fate will be referenced in some way, in a future game.
Salim probably has more kill count with a metal pipe against those alien parasitical vampires than all of the other 4 characters combined (this is excluding explosion kills)
Dude i literally cried when jason antagonized salim a lot and left him to die in the end. F that i will rewatch it from the start and absorb their tender moments all over again. Ain't gonna leave this video when my heart is broken!
Ummm not for me, he killed my Eric and left Rachel to die - i only wanted him to meet Eric and Nick, i didn't mean to blow his cover and capture him alive
Salim being left behind was so hard to watch. He knew he was going to die there and there was nothing he could do about it. He didn't deserve that at all.
I think it's great that they made the Iraqi the most badass, relatable character in the whole game when most other games would use him as generic enemy fodder
20:27 Is my absolutely most favorite scene in this game it made me chuckle the first time I've seen it Salim is one of the few characters I've wanted to keep alive in a game for so long
For me Jason is just a ruthless jackass with a "military leadership mentality" that causes nothing but problems for his group . Salim is by far the most likable character in this game. Literally the person that carried this title. I liked and was far more attached to him more than anyone in the American crew. Only reason that's worth it to play House Of Ashes is because of his persona.
Did it cause problems? as far as I know Rachel and her love triangle caused more problems, Nick didn't give a damn about the mission and was only distracted for almost half of the game, Eric is just an asshole who only thinks about him and tries in every way to get back together with a Rachel, Not to mention that trying to bring Clarice is the dumbest choice possible and that's because of Rachel who can't see the obvious, Jason has literally saved Salim several times. Why do you think he has this "military mindset"? he is a lieutenant in the marines he obviously takes the position of leadership and responsibility for the team, he is obviously a more ruthless and introspective person, he must have been very affected by the death of the woman at the checkpoint but he never broke down his feelings for anyone , he is a character with a great redemption and story arc, Salim can define in just a few words, his son.
