For those that don't know , the guitarist is Jimmy Sakurai from Led Zeppagain and Mr Jimmy . He dedicated his whole career to capture the " live Jimmy Page " performance .He does a great job too .Check him out in his other bands
Jimmy Sakurai is indeed a very gifted Artist, and his dedication to the outstanding career and music of Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin. It's really cool that Jimmy Page actually saw him gig in a small club in Japan. It's here on RU-vid somewhere. The meeting of the two is a very sweet and moving moment. They got on really well. There's a Japanese word, "Shuhari" which is basically the act of studying one's Master, devoting one's Career and Life to becoming perfect. I would say without question that Mr Sakurai has mastered "Shuhari ".
Many, MANY thanks Jason for posting this amazing performance! I had tickets to the Austin show that was canceled, so at least I can watch some of what I missed out on! LLRnR!
There’s ONLY “ONE” true Led Zeppelin band on the entire planet...Page, Plant, “Bonzo” Bonham, and Paul Jones...PERIOD! God Bless Jason in honoring his Dad, he is the living legacy of the best drummer in the world! No other band will ever replicate the worlds greatest band. Thank you Jimmy, Robert, and John. RIP John “Bonzo” Bonham. For us all , The Songs Remain the Same. JBLZE Rock On!!
I give Jason all the credit in the world for honoring his dad. Any group of musician's that can pull off Led Zeppelin this well is very talented indeed. BTW great upload thanks. I hope the sound issues were yours and and you got the full experience!
Because of your video, I just went to see them. I thank you. AMAZING. The audio in person was even better than the video, I felt like I was in a time machine.
I'm sure that dude has been told many times he doesn't look like his dad, it was probably just projection lol. Who cares what he looks like he has the voice!
Thought this was one of those RU-vid spam things.. then I saw “the” Jason Bonham go to the kit, and then researched the rest of the band. Watched it all! Just wow! As a drummer I thank you for this…
Who's the singer?? He does really well cover one of if not the greatest frontman of all time! Keep I mind sometimes Plant wouldn't even sing it like the record cuz of how exhausted his voice was I sure from touring. So this is a real treat. They are trying to do it just like the record and that's freaking cool! ✌️🖤🤘
Great job guys!! yeah the purists will say but its not LZ,thats right, its the next generation paying respects and honoring what came before them,I thinks its awesome,Kudos guys and thank you!!
I'd seen some guitar vids of some of the greatest playing and licks replication of Jimmy Page from someone years ago. Never showed his face. I wonder if this could actually be him. Wouldn't surprise anyone. Phenomenal.
@@alechamid235 the best thing about him is he will duplicate any led Zeppelin concert. Just amazing. I saw led Zeppelin in 1977. This guy is incredible. I am a guitar player. I love it.
" I didn't get the chance to say it when you were alive" ...Jason Jason...as to Jimmi S...imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, and he's the best I've heard
The guitarist is doing an excellent job of mimicking Jimmy Page's movements on stage. He's doing a fine job of recreating how Jimmy moves on stage. Even the hair looks similar.
.......I'm surprised that so many people haven't heard of Mr. Jimmy ... Around California he's known to be able to play like him , move like him, dress like him . He's an Asian version of him. He's Great ..... When Page know he's playing near him , he goes to see him.
Saw this Tour in CT. I was not aware at the time of arrival Jason was playing. My brother set me up with tixs last minute and told me when I arrived at the concert. What a spectacular show. I have to say this is one of the top 5 shows I have ever seen in my life. I have seen Zeppelin in 1994 with PLant and Jimmy but no Jon Paul or Jason. So to see Jason play I was was in Zeeppelin Heaven. Peter exceeded every expectation I ever had in his ability as a great guitarist. Just a jaw dropping player. My wife even enjoyed the show!!! And that hard to do, she is not a rocker but that night she became a true fan of Peter.
was at one of the MSG shows with Page/Plant - magical. Saw Plant in '88 (SRV opening act!) and Page with Black Crows. Seeing Jason tomorrow night in NJ will be nice!
I'm of that age that I recall Led Zepplin in "real time". But I'd be a lying fuck if I didn't acknowledge that Jason and the boys did a fantastic job of bringing the spirit, to be and excitement back even if only for a few minutes! Bless your hearts!
Singer sounds like Robert Plant. Guitarist is a great image of Jimmy Page. Nobody can replace John Paul Jones. The Genius of Led Zeppelin. October 8 2022 at Fantasy Springs in Indio CA. It probably sold out.
Guys are coming this Aug 14th for a free concert, so I'm going, mostly because of Mr Jimmy, but wish there was a better singer to do Plant, and one who looks more like him.
No, it's the bassist who looks like Robert Plant, so why doesn't the vocalist look like John Paul Jones? Jokes aside, I thought the guy was pretty good, enjoyed listening to this while I was working. "The New Jersey Civic Colosseum is proud to present… appearing live for a limited engagement… Elvis Presley’s Coat!"
Jimmy Sakurai needs no help playing Pagey. Type in Shu Ha Ri Vol. 2 to see him play for the master himself and Page's reaction. Of course Page also did countless overdubs on many of LZ's studio recordings. Probably Jason's idea to have the keyboardist play on a few numbers. Jason controls this band but I suggest you check out Sakurai when he played with a Zep cover band called Led Zepagain and wore replicas of Page's outfits every night. Lot's of their videos on YT. He is a phenomenal player.
@@TheBent139 I've seen him twice here in Japan, once in a theater with Led Zep Again and once with his band Mr.Jimmy (in a small club, literally 5 feet away, with full vintage Marshalls and 70's era stage volume). So let me just agree with you dude - Jimmy Sakurai is the SHITE. He is not "copying" Page, he is channeling Led Zep music the way a great violinist channels a Beethoven Sonata. I went in skeptical and came out truly converted. He's REAL. And Jimmy Page himself agrees.
@@bcdrummer1962 He seems somewhat restricted in Jason's band. The great outfits are gone and he doesn't get to play the great live renditions like he did with Zepagain. And honestly, their drummer, Derek, plays Bonzo better than Jason. This JBLZE gig probably pays better though. I hope to soon get to see the "Mr. Jimmy" documentary recently made about him that covers the end of his time with Zepagain.
TheBent139 yeah, this is not as “deep-cut” as when he fronts his own band. But as you say the ¥¥ must be better. When I saw him with Zepagain he had a genuine ‘59 Burst, not a custom-shop re-issue axe. And he wore the ‘73 Wizard-era outfit. Tremendous show. You’ll dig the documentary for sure. Cheers bro.
I've had the distinct pleasure of seeing Zed Zeppelin live on three occasions back in their day. Then quite by surprise in 2018 heard Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin experience in NY... I was speechless. These guys are f'n amazing. No other band I know of recreates the phenomenal experience of seeing and hearing Led Zeppelin better than this band does it. Yes, they are that fucking good! Go see them....it's well worth the price of admission.
Oddly enough, I understand he was signed with Zildjian for several years even though John played Paiste. Personally I've always wondered if John didn't use an Istanbul ride as the tone was so dark. I know he (John) played a giant beat until '71 and then switched to a 2002 but I've never heard a 2002 sound so rich.
JB Zep Shows with Mr. Jimmy are is as good as gets considering that... 1977: 6 shows at Madison Square Garden, tickets by mail order only, my sister and I sent our money order in and received back a letter informing us all 6 shows were sold out. 1980: Down at shore with my GF (now wife), we had tickets for the October/November Philly show...and over the radio we hear Bonzo died.
77’ in Seattle, tickets go on sale announced and we drive like maniacs, slide drifting into the front of the ticket sales outlet... $17 a ticket.. limit 4, I think the show sold out in in just a few hours in analog times. Maybe one of the worst recorded shows LZ ever did.... and we loved EVERY SECOND of the experience. 7/17/77... King Dome never did collapse during Stairway to Heaven. the next few years were tragic for the guys and their families, Plant lost his sons Band and Jason lose Bonzo. RIP.
You have to see them live to appreciate the experience. They are as close to the real Led Zeppelin as there is. Just close your eyes and you cannot tell the difference.
Getting ready to go tonight & wanted to see what it's all about. Now I am stoked. Was blessed to see Page & Plant Tour 24 years ago, but avoid cover bands. This is more though & special. Can't wait.😁
The singer's more relaxed now than when I saw them a couple of years ago. Mr.Sakurai wasn't in the band then but sounds and looks great. Who knew Jimmy Page had an oriental look to him. haha I think they all sound great.
Saw them 11/18/19 in Joliet. Second year in a row they've played there early in their tour. Awesome show. Best Zeppelin tribute band you could ever see. Although, is it really a tribute if they have the endorsement of the three living legends.
For the people who haven't been exposed to zeppelin, its a great introduction. Better than hearing some pop superstar cover a zep song in concert, then you have some 14 year old talking about Britney spears new song called Kashmir 😆 I'd pay money to see this show!! They're great, It's as close to the real thing as we're ever gonna get again.
@@MasterYota1 hahaha! I was of course joking, but you have to admit, if you look at the screen in an out of focus kinda way, you might be tricked into thinking it is Jimmy circa 1973
I was in a band from Buffalo N.Y called DoDriver we opened for these guys in 2013 they were great had a different guitar player though. My buddy was there production manager at the time. Dorian the bass player was great we hung out & talked gear for a while. Everyone’s bagging on the singer he’s actually pretty good & I’ve heard plant do worse lol.
All the compliments to Mr. Jimmey Great Talent. A lot of people are sayings as goo or better I'm sorry not close.... But in Mr. page's defense everyone is forgetting that page wrote 75-80% music for the the bands lyrics!! And the most important things is he wrote Stairway To Heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dare anyone else to come close to him period............................................
I appreciate the effort... but it is so hard not to judge. Some good spots in this, but man.. you gonna cover the Big LZ, you better bring your “A” game. That said.. Kudos Jason.. RIP John.
That's good old mr Jimmy on guitar that's the closest thing your going to get to James Patrick Page there is in fact hes probably better then the real Jimmy cause of the sad fact our guitar God is getting old and this version of him is still young and fingers can move with no trouble
I have seen Jimmy Page jumped on the stage..... sure he can but he probably didn't want to do it so often...... just that way . / .. while EVH wanted to produce his trademark...I think.
