If we are just talking strictly lyrics this is a top 5 Isbell track. Every line, every verse, complete and total dominance from start to finish. Isbell is just on another level.
Ranking JI lyrics is a lofty pursuit. Every week I appreciate his lyrics slightly differently. One of the greatest writers of this era and a heck of a musician!
Used to play this j my car... my kids (8 and 4) would sing along with JUST the "ohhhh noooes" and "Ohhhh yes" tags. And that's how I knew they were listening.
@@carsonc1156 Ryan and Mandy Moore were shacked up together for a while, I think it's a reach (the whole moore/more which the OP is going for) great tune nonetheless, 1 of many great Isbell tracks.

Sadler is fantastic but I don’t understand why jason doesn’t do solo picking himself on certain tunes. He is a monster with the flatpick and hybrid style.
Don't take the vocals here as an indicator of his vocal skills. These are great for this song, but the guy has a lot more range than what you're seeing here. A lot of people are 'going crazy' over his music. They just don't play it on standard country radio because it's not generic enough.
