I met my husband for the first time in Nashville and after we ate supper for our first date he took me to a place he knew on the Percy Priest that we could sit and let our feet dangle in the water...that was in 2000 - He passed away Dec 14 2017 so that is a great memory of us talking by the Percy Priest.
Saw him in concert in Ithaca,N.Y. in February, this song blew me away. The depth of his voice was amazing,I am a sucker for a good love song, this one hit hard.Stripped raw instrumentally, strong lyrics from a powerful voice. All you need
Michael Shepard - if you ever see this comment, just know, when we were young you were the first man I ever deeply and emotionally loved. And if you ever gave me another chance, I promise to try my best to make you smile everyday. To make you feel happy and comforted and loved. I loved you once before, many years ago. And now that we’ve grown up and we have wrinkles, I feel like for some reason I could love you again. I can’t shake the feeling that maybe you could be everything I asked the universe for. Come find out if I’m a good match for you too.
This music is so hauntingly beautiful he could have been singing about dish water and it would still be one of the most beautiful sounds I've heard in years❤️
Late April I saw Amanda perform here in town... small venue, sold out. It was great. She's got quite a repertoire of gut wrenching songs herself. Then, early August, we were able to see Jason, down by the river on a beautiful evening... he mentioned the sunset a couple of times. This was just a mile from where I'd seen Amanda (got her sig on a show flyer as well). Jason said the town was special to him, he was always glad to be here. He sang Cover Me Up. They're a special couple, both so talented, and right for each other. But they both have major ups and down. The dress tearing bit always make me wince, a bit moreso I think living here in Richmond.

You made this Morgan Waller song your own, I got the feeling you'd lived every word as if it were your own. I love this cover you did better. Kinda like Nine Inch Nails Hurt covered by Johnny Cash, Cash version is my fave. He made it his own. ♥️
Lol, Little bit backwards This is not a Morgan cover song. "Cover Me Up" written and performed by Janson Isbell back in 2013 so it kinda is his song. Morgan's version is a cover of Jason's
Rotflmao……sometimes if your this uninformed it might be better to stay off of social media. This is Jason’s song from the experience, to the songwriting, to the singing, and the passion. Wallen is nothing more than a glorified karaoke singer.
+John Bertram on this recording another man is singing with and it sounds like Ryan Adams. if you look at RU-vid they performed together why I said it...
I like Jason's better, it's less country, his gravely bluesy voice, and listening to it ,gives the impression he lived out every word, yet not his words. Really tho, there's no comparison. Each artist made the song their own.
here,s the last verse......This song so bad it making me sad,i can,t listen no more, Please show me the door, and I won,t come here no more, ,Every body sing........This song so bad it,s making me sad, Please show me the door....etc,...etc
He can't convey the love and passion and pain that this man does because he didnt live it. He didn't write it. Morgan Wallen has a beautiful voice, I like his version because of his voice but it doesn't come close to this.
