Tim, crankin' 'em out!! I would urge all of Tim's subscibers to look at Tim's great breakdown in the context of Jason's Sirius XM peformance (capo 4th fret there). You can see the left hand movements there as Tim accurately describes quite clearly inJason's performance. Moreover, you can see when Jason uses the hammer on the A string and then the single strike on the E string -- typically on the non-vocal sections of the tune, and at the very end, where he concludes with a single low E string strike for maximum emotional effect. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ClugMhMbrRg.html And Tim's description of the strumming pattern on the two high strings is dead on. Jason Isbell, like a lot of Americana singer songwriters, is also a virtuoso guitar player. But as you can see, the songs are simple, with basic chords and powerful lyrics. What makes the songs great are tremendous lyrics and simple, yet precise, playing, with rock solid tempo and distiinctive individual note striking. Great job as usual Tim.!!
