Thanks for Subscribing! Jason Jessee skating vert and mini ramp in the raw camera tapes from the filming of Speed Freaks.
Jason was known for being an aggressive, powerful and stylish skateboarder on a variety of transitions and his part from Santa Cruz Speed Wheels "Speed Freaks" was a highlight of the video.
This footage was filmed in San Diego and Orange County, California and also ripping the ramp was Rob Roskopp and Chris Miller, as well as iconic TransWorld Skateboarding photographer J. Grant Brittain, shooting the session and portraits of Jessee and his tattoos.

Wild Man. How do you edit that? Virtually every run was just 'Jezus H Christ'. So burly, so skilled. And Roskopp f@#king killed it on the vert too. Have you ever skated as hard ? Those guys were not just skate gods, they were freakin' athletes. Gnar gnar and more gnar. Thanks for putting this one up.

Absolutely love Jessee's style at vert. Roskopp on the other hand was very average at best for a pro. He was only popular because of his board graphics. He was a big guy and skated very stiff and bag of tricks were limited. Not to rag on him too much, I was actually a HUGE Roskopp fanboy back when I was a little kid in the 80s and I did enjoy his part of Speed Freaks as well as Wheels of Fire but just being honest.

@@wendaltvedt4673 Strongly disagree. Dude ripped all terrain powerfully and had an individual style- isn't that what skateboarding is all about? Popularity should not detract from skills. Furthermore he accomplished more with his skateboard than 99.999% of anyone who ever rode one, he deserved to keep going hard or parlay his talent 💯💯🙌🙌

@@andrewthurman3761 Yes! We used to go skate his settup in the street when we were in Jr High. Then I met him in high school but the ramp was gone. We called it the Galaxy ramp, guessing maybe the shop in Laguna paid for it??

Have you seen Grant Taylor’s Ollie’s. Son of Thomas Taylor legend of the ATL ? That boy can Ollie tranny. But JJ was the originator of that kind of tranny skating for sure.

Yeah me too, I was lucky I chose a decent deck, coz I'm ashamed to say it wasn't because of the feel of the board under my feet, it was coz of the graphics 'Neptune' with the shark on the tail. I really wish I didn't give it away.

Thank you for uploading this amazing footage full of epic runs! I think the vert part was filmed at the same ramp Jason Jessee skated for his "Streets on Fire" part. The only difference is that his skating had gotten even better. 🔥🛹

Holy shit, I didn't know he died from fent. "Acute polydrug intoxication"; I thought it was a heart attack. That's a bummer. I doubt anyone in skateboarding gave him fent; he definitely knew where to get drugs if he wanted them. Probably bought some M30's and thought he was actually getting oxies like back in the day. RIP.
