This team has no toughness. Kidd is soft spoken and his team plays that way. Luka is the best player and a great scorer who isnt the leader of his team and his constant berating and complaining of the officials hurts this team and the defense. This is a young mans league. Get Omax, Hardy and some fresh legs off the bench to give this team some energy and put Hardaway and Kleber at the end of the bench. Luka putting up a 40 point triple double every game is null and void. Get the ball moving around and get on the boards and get some rebounds DAMN 🤦🏾♂️ and for godsake start making some In Game Adjustments and challenge some calls and take a T for your team Kidd to get them going sheesh!
Kidd should start thinking about changing starting 5 and control the game from start to finish. Adjust rotations based on who performs well CONSTANTLY.

I knew the 2011 Mavs could go deep in the playoffs when I saw that they knew how to rotate a man from the double team over to the eventually wide Open swing Man in the corner. I. E. The quick Jason Terry comes over to help double-team on the strong-side, then as soon as the ball began to swing, Terry would Sprint baseline to the weak side corner, where everybody in basketball knows the open man will be. Mavs defensive rotation is 100% reactionary rn. You gotta see s*** before it happens. Hell, I can see that s*** coming from a mile away. Sometimes you have to initiate on defense, which actually makes it easier to predict what happens next. Come on

In today NBA even if you play 100% defence opponents will score 120 on you but Mavs are like oh man they score everyithing and then their defence fall to 90% and this mean opponents score 140 and not 120 and Mavs lose. It is really about details and coaches do not see this! This year NBA teams are fast best attachs in history of NBA you can not stop a lot but wou need to stop some to win!
Terrible Luka ball hog style of play all game. TERRIBLE. Ices out everyone. the team cannot get into any kind of rhythm. Zero passing/cutting on offense. Dribble hand offs, shitty PNR all night long. Then he gets cooked by McConnell on defense time and again. Well, he ran out of steam running his shit offense just to get stats. No wonder he is a turnstile..
Kidd is not an NBA level coach. Team with this much talent don't look this bad this often for no reason. Luka making his bed laying with this dude. It's his legacy being shat on right now. Kidd has to go. It's his job to get the team ready to play. Defense is about effort, there's too much standing around watching and not crashing the boards. He plays dumb lineups (not starting Gafford, overplaying maxi). The team will isn't responding to him.
Coach said it best : when we're scoring we play both sides. When we go cold we give up on D. Tim and Maxi not hitting shots is a huge deal for morale. OMax developing and moving on from dead weight will be huge for us next year.

Yeah skill is required but trust me when I say if u play like Gaffords energy every single night, this team will be top 4 in the league. When in truth is not even the case, he is a very good defender in proper scenarios. But the fact he is so good on offense makes his defense seem worse. And honestly. Not even the most capable of stars on the defensive end like Tatum dont play defense nearly on the same level as offense. And is it really fair to expect Luka to score a 30+ point triple doubles every game, while blocking 3 shots and getting 5 steals? Like thats completly unreal. There is noone in the league like that. If he could do that he doesnt need a fucking team anymore. And dont get me started on the MVP debate... Luka is a clear MVP. The last time i checked mvp meant most valuable player. And Luka is that. Without Luka the Mavs are basically the Pistons. While the celtics, nuggets, timberwolves, OKC, etc. can win games without their best player against most other teams in the league.
If you read my reply, it doesnt say horrible or steals/blocks or anything you are mentioning. Other than everything about the team jkidd and flaws, as a leader you need to lead by example and at least stay in front of your man and not let your man walk by you that often splitting through the paint. Mavs offense one of the best? I disagree. Other than Luka and Kyrie Mavs literally have no consistent player who can put that ball on the basket. Definitely Mavs' defense sucks.

Last off season we learned that the Mavs front office told the coaches and players to basically tank so they could get high draft picks, which resulted in drafting Lively. I wish someone would ask Kidd if, like last season, the front office told him (and other top players) to do whatever he needs to do to ensure that Luka is an MVP candidate? The rotations aren’t necessarily the problem if guys simply perform, but I can easily see how playing a different style on offense that isn’t so Luka-centric would take away from Luka’s stats and therefore Luka’s MVP chances. As far as defense goes, dudes do not give maximum effort defensively if they don’t get touches or plays called for them offensively. As point guard, Luka needs to take a step back and simply focus on getting his team more involved and I don’t mean just getting assists off them, but just allowing them to play their game. Even Kyrie has struggled because he’s just not getting plays ran for him enough. Your point guard shouldn’t be averaging more shot attempts than your SHOOTING guard on a consistent basis. Luka has to reprioritize if he wants guys to play for him. This is his team after all…

Kid is great for developing players, but his rotations and underutilization of vets has been doo doo. I have no expectations anymore for this year. But this team, beginning with Luka, has to be better and more fluid. What a weird team to love.

Tj mconnel torched them , thats says all , mavs defence is only switch and zone nothing more , you never see help from the weak side , luka and kyrie gives the easy blow out to the guards of the opposite team and they stuck on position to give free looks to the opposite team which of course they will shoot in a high rates , lack of energy and the close out is no where to seem , ok kyrie and luka gives buckets but whats the point if they trade buckets with the opposite team every time , gafford and lively r high energy we get it , but every pump fake they jump and gives easy fouls and they gamble for block instead of just stay with your high hands straight and stop be stuck at the restricted area , they must limit hardaway to 10 15min the guy unwatchable, gives hardy his minutes more , and djj must be a starter instead of green/kleber he is the only guy with solid defence in the team
