I LOVE this version. I often compare this performance to the one he did when he first came out. The Java Joes version is astonishing for how it communicates a purity that is startled by heartbreak, but this version is heartbreaking because of how lived in it sounds.
i"m 47 and just found him 2 mos ago...my newest addiction. This song sounds like Pink Floyd.'s Us and Them..i love everything he does. My husband and my friends don't get it. They are all stuck in the past with their classic rock. Mraz is my top 4 faves i must see one day. His talent encompasses so many levels. His passion just does it for me.
Are you kidding? Lol! This rendition is my absolute favorite, too. I’ve seen him live, and have never heard him ever hit a bad note voice-wise. But to each his own! ☺️☺️
I don't usually make a comment to any videos I'm watching in RU-vid but this song is damn good. No words can describe how great this song is. Voice of Jason Mraz + Melody of the song + lyrics of the song is ABSOLUTELY SOMETHING. By the way it's 2016 and still listening to this. :D :D
completely agree with you on this song! I liked him from his past two or three singles, but this song I listened to one night and it was something completely in its own world. To me it defined him as a musician and songwriter.
the start of the 3th minute gives me goosebumps and makes me shiver! Wow, that's so beautiful! He's the greatest male-singer alive these days, or at least one of them.
I loved this song years ago before I realized it was really a breakup song just because of the awesome vocals. Played it over and over again, Now that I am in a breakup it is really sinking in on almost every word.
You. You were a friend You were a friend of mine I let you spend the night You see how it was my fault Of course it was mine I'm too hard at work Have you ever heard of anything so absurd ever in your life I'm sorry for wasting your time Who am I to say this situation isn't great? It's my job to make the most of it Of course I didn't know that it would happen to me Not that easy Hey what's that you say? You're not blaming me for anything that's great But I don't break that easy Does it fade away? So that's why I'm apologizing now for telling you I thought that we could make it I just don't get enough to believe that we've both changed Who am I to say this situation isn't great? It's my time to make the most of it How could I ever know that this would happen to me, not that easy, no All along the fault is up for grabs why don't you have it Well it's for sale go make your offer, I'll sell it for no less than what I bought it for Pay no more than absolutely zero Well neither one of us deserves the blame because opportunities moved us away And it's not an easy thing to learn to play a game that's made for two that's you and me The rules remain a mystery. See it can be easy Who am I to say this situation isn't great? It's our time to make the most of it How could we ever know that this would happen to me, not that easy, no All along the fault is up for grabs and there you have it Well it's for sale go make your offer, I'll sell it for no less than what I bought it for Pay no more than absolutely zero.
He was really inspired this night! i have seen a few videos of this concert and they were the ones i liked the most!!! How can he be SO talented? I am glad he have somebody like him nowadays... I used to like only old music (Beatles especially) because i didnt find anything good these days but Jason Mraz has proved me wrong... There IS someone out there who can delight us with good music as the old days! So thank you so much Jason!
I listen to all his stuff..and love it..but I always come back here...where I first found Jason..Thx to you..It always sounds as good as the first time I listened to it..Thx
i would do anything to turn back time and be able to go to this concert... i've seen plenty of concerts on the internet and this is by far the best of his! it is truly amazing
i remember when this concert footage was available to watch on Comcast On Demand. i watch all these performances TO DEATH!!!!! this has to be his best concert to date. i wish this had the in between conversations too. hes so damn silly and he seems like so much fun to hang out with!!
i agree a bit, i mean i liked im yours before it was on any album. it was raw and natural but then when it was on his album it became very pop. I like his old stuff much more but no matter how famous he becomes, he'll always be my favourite. Even if I tried to hate him, i don't think i could.
I accidentally came across this song on my friends ipod.... i always listen to hip-hop, pop- or 80s rock ! and never thought I'd fall in love with this song...the way it made me feeeel! I fuckin Love this song! Thank you God for letting me accidentally running accross this song....it makes me feel something I cant describe with words
I heard this song sung by a woman at an open mic night. In her version it was about being raped by her boyfriend after an argument and how she blamed herself. She didn't change a single lyric and there wasn't a single dry eye in the house.
