Unbelievable. This guy just keeps getting better and better. Amazing rap flow with jazzy guitar and the usual great Mraz vocals. 35 dislikes must be tone deaf.
I think it was off the bonus tracks from the 2008 album "We sing, we dance, we steal things"... I just never really sat and appreciated it until recently. This live informal performance is incredible... and the lyric mistake makes it that much better.
songs from the "casa nova sessions" are also great! do you know them. I almost only listen to live songs of mr. Mraz. His lyrics are so awesome, uplifting and funny. I had a ticket to a show of him beginning of this year, but it got canceled 😑
i love you for introducing bob schneider to me. you made somebody across the world happy. i hope a pie randomly falls out of the sky right to your doorstep because of your comment. lol
@thebluelantern012 Apparently he and Bob are friends and they play this song writing game where they use lyrics from each other's songs. Kind of a nice touch.
Say we ain't got no dope All I got's my forty Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty (Sing that with me) Say we ain't got no dope All I got's my forty Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty I'd like to give a shout out to all my VIP's And individualize 'cause I'm an MC I can because I care because my family's here Cause I (cause I what) Cause I (cause I what) Cause I 'preciate the mentality of music I'm savin' all my sentences unless of course I'm smoothly spoken Quiet type the kind to watch out for No man of the clan I'm perpetratin' the scam Sure I'm the boy with the fallopian voice Straight from the sleeve of any wizard of choice I got the reason to be roamin' out the coverage area Send me the bill if all my lovin' is scarin' ya Dare you to dream the way that I believe I got the skill to go commando in any fatigues I got the best damn band in the music scene But I could also flow solo or just let it be because Of the love Oh the self realization is your if and and but But you gotta know your name before the play of the game Keep a levelheaded check on your health and stay sane Address the tack on the track The needle's on the record Prepare for playback Sayjack Oh could I buy another vowel? I need another clue and I could also use a towel And How goes the medium tempo Slayin' all the teachers like the class of '84 And down low You know my fidelities go Well I would never hurt a fly with the didas on I got control I keep a clean toilet bowl 2000 flushes blue and still goin' strong Do I do what I do for the sake of the song comin' through on the radio? Naw it's for you This is proof My own story's a spoof I'll always be a gypsy I'll forever be aloof And if you never get to likin' me it's okay too But you made it this far so pay your toll at the booth Ah yes you made it this far so pay your toll at gate Yes you made it this far now make some noise in this place I said we made it this far now let's get back to the part that we sing (what?) We ain't got no dope All I got's my forty Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty We ain't got no dope All I got's my forty Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty True or false? I can be a sensitive man With sensible plans for the everyday woman And I can keep you eatin' out the palm of my hand Because the dope that we smoked was grown on my land The words I burn they don't come from a can The movie in my mind'll be the winner at Cannes So take your chance Apply for full or part-time romance Clever or the better measure up to whatever Cause it don't matter how tall How fat or how small Equal opportunities are open to all The casting call line forms down the hall All you need is I.D that shows that you're legal But people with egos, a freakshow, a syndrome You best not go You know I don't need those If you got a problem that I really aughta read Then post it on the web care of R-K-O-P It's easy like me but a bit less than cheesy Go heavy on the melody and add a dash of pink And if you can't stand the kitchen get the hell out the heat To meet with the geek all you need is a heartbeat And to meet with the geek on the streets all you gotta do is know the words you sing So everybody repeat this after me (sing it) Ain't got no dope All I got's my forty (all I got is a forty) Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty Ain't got no dope All I got's my forty (all I got is a forty) Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty Well I'm I'm type A positive and just the way I like it Right away I'm satisfied with my food before I try it Can't deny it to save my life I'm never lyin' To brave this mic without the same thing twice Is actually an act of stayin' up all night With the mood just right And the purchase of a flight From the west cost To these Netherlands lights it's aurora borealis' company that I'm tight with Despite everything that you've heard I'll admit that most are true And I'll be keeping my word And I will do the double duty on the search for new verbs And I'll report to work early to deliver the worm With a back well covered by my buddies of ease Now ain't no way in hell that I will ever have to say please Breakin' all the codes on the latest machines I'll even let you download me for free (for free) (for free) (for free) We ain't got no dope All I got's my forty Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty We ain't got no dope All I got's my forty Ain't got nobody baby That I can call my shorty
this is my favorite version.... :) he's goregous, i love him when he forgets the lyrics and when he is like abour to laguh aaaal the time :) i looove him♥ dianmika :)
damn right, im from mexico, here all the songs that people have heard are, im yours and you and i both... i mean i like those songs ... but he has wayy more better songs... man... im just praying he will visit mexico... his songs are amassing
How all these years later I still come back to this absolute banger as go to feel good song. I remember every word and I try to share it at all times with anyone who will listen. Genuinely one of the best songs ever.
@ocachisu I know all the lyrics, they just refuse to come out of my mouth in the same smooth format that they do from his. SERIOUSLY, who uses "aurora borealis" in a song?
so true, I've been a fan since his 2002 stuff and since We sing, we dance, we steal things, so many peeps i know say they love his stuff, but they dont even know it -.-
yeah lol he's so funny and a great singer :] i'm pretty sure the people in my community didn't even know him (i kind of introduced my neighborhood to jason mraz)
Also, a little trivia, Bob Schneider started a group called The Scabs back in the 90's and part of that group who played with Bob Schneider and The Scabs were called The Grooveline Horns - They were the horn trio that played with Bob Schneider. The Grooveline Horns also toured a few years back with Jason Mraz and were part of his group as backup horns.
Not that Bob Schneider isn't a good musician. But you realize this isn't COMPLETELY a Bob Schneider cover right? The chorus is his. The verses, or the "rap" part are actually the words to Jason's song Gypsy MC.
I remember seeing this video a couple of years ago when I was first stumbled upon Jason Mraz. 3:00 I still remember that moment haha, god this guy is such a beast. He's inspired me so much, I've gone a long way since I first picked up a guitar. I hope I meet him one day in my life, no homo.
A mon KARDO 💞💞... Repose en paix mon frère... Toi et moi on ce reverra bientôt 😉...met moi une binouze bien fraîche de côté avec 2 PAC... Tu me manques frangin ☝️
@pantarevito oh my gosh!! i noticed that as well lol it's the same in 0% interest i was like listening along too see where he could possible take a breath to swallow.. and he doesn't ?? haa someone should ask him :L
@TrackStar407 i disagree. dylan and sinatra were real good for their time. but jasons versatility and live performance is so much bigger than them. they were one style, and rarely as good live. jason IS his music, as well as most anyone else's he chooses. but to be fair here - music is all preferance, so if you like dylan and sinatra's style more, of course you wont think hes as good. i prefer jason's style and attitude much more, but i can still recognize the other guy's talent. each his own.
@wnyx he wrote the song apart from the "Aint got no dope, all I got is my forty, aint got nobody I can call my shorty" which is from the song "Mudhouse" by Bob Schneider. :)
One, that part is not his song, it's a cover of Bob Schneider's "Mudhouse", and two, when it says "Ain't got nobody, baby", the term "baby" could represent anyone. You don't really have to be in a relationship to call someone "baby". But like I said, it's not even his song, so if you have a problem with the chorus lyrics, you should take it up with Bob Schneider.
You guys (won’t, well)..) will actually believe what the hell is going on over here. Have I got a story for you. Thanku so much. Sending so much love. I also need weed. ❤ lol.
@pantarevito it's easier to ignore saliva when you sing the words because theyre more fluid and you break less than you would if you were speaking. notice that he starts to sing the words and blend them together a little in the verses that's how he does it. plus, he's amazing
@TrackStar407 Hmm... I don't even want to try :). Their both good and have their spot. I think music is so subjective the words "better than" almost have no meaning, unless of course one singer is just BAAAD. But I'll ponder your question :P
I was looking for Bob schneider's song Mudhouse and found this. The rest of this song is different but the chorus is the same. So I was wondering if anyone knows if Jason just took the chorus from bob's song or is this an old song i never heard or what?
@pantarevito Dude, I have the hardest time with his songs because I need to swallow... Apparently some people can just sing without needing to, but we weren't blessed like Jason... Let me know if you ever figure it out?
i never claim to be mraz's number one fan. just a big fan. but what bugs me is all the UK fans (where i'm from) that have only ever heard 'I'm Yours' and STILL consider themselves big fans That bug anyone else?
Where's the props for Bob Schneider? The chorus is from Madhouse. Google it. I'm not hating on JM, but one of the best white rappers could be G Love. Represent. :-) Good song though Jason.
i dont hear any effects... it looks alot like a guitar tuner i have, so yea... guess its a tuner =) but yea, these come in alot of different kinds, reverb, delay, distortion etc etc
@boywithblues I thought I had gotten ahold of a deluxe version, but apparently it wasn't, 'cause I couldn't find this song anywhere on it. Must have been my bad.
I am any less of a super fan if this is the first time i have heard this? This is the only song i know of that i haven't heard!! I have been meaning to. hahaa.
I know right. This is one of his best and it will never make the radio. Which is probably a good thing because they would just overplay it and ruin it.
Sigo a Jason Mraz desde su primer álbum y había olvidado este video, lo encontré viendo do el cover de Billie Jean pero vaya sorpresa tan agradable, el mejor artista que he escuchado
