Aha! Same here. I was wondering, with all these complex and interesting topics, one of his top 5's are going to be about a movie that stars a talking bear? Lol
What fun--you are a dear wonderful soul. A new arrival. I 100% approve. Errors along the way are not what is relevant. I wish I could be around when you are 60--smile.
I think what Tim means is it would be great if the links along the bottom brought us to specific videos regarding the subjects, whether they're produced by thnkrtv or not
Interesting thoughts. Transcension especially. If our destiny might be going smaller and smaller to the point of almost disappearing, and instead inhabiting virtual worlds, maybe it has already happened? There seems to be equations in string theory that reveal structures that are identical to a specific type of computer code we have today, and a common hypothesis in physics is simulation theory, that if we eventually in the future achieve the computational power and brains to to simulate entire universes, it is statistically more likely that we live in a simulated universe then a real one. and string theory also seems to indicate that there is a multiverse and we just inhabit one of them. So maybe transcension has already happened, and our universe is just that.
Wow that was very interesting. I think about this too, what if when we reach transcension, we get to meet the civilization or even the individual mind that created us. That is very exciting to think about.
I´m a big fan Jason Silva, and thinks most of his thoughts are completely legit, but the trancension hypothesis, even though presented as an hypothesis, seems overly speculative to me (haven´t read much about it, but still).
At 4:18 you are completely right on. That is why we are in existence. We are hoping our idea changes the world just like yours :) @littlemissjacob would love to connect w you guys. Hit me up there or @influenceis
We do..don't you watch Ancient Aliens.. I love Giorgio Tousaki.. Tsoukalos..❤️️. Ugg he's married.. why are all the beautiful brilliant men taken.. isn't it Ironic.. let's go to Atlantis.. and talk to Plato..I think he's my cousin. Lol!
I feel he is too optimistic about the exponential growth of technology. he often talks about our human minds and how we are biologically inclined to see progression at a slower pace. I dont think the world is ready for this leap into transcendence. IDK i just become concerned because he is right people arent getting dumber we are getting smarter but a vast majority of people arent as smart as he is and start believing his ideas and following them because they couldnt think these things for themselves. im trying not to hate but dont just agree with these public intellectuals question them as well!
I agree, some people aren't as intellectual and critical about the world as he and other intelligent people may be. Although I believe that the exponential growths of these technologies will help us remove the fear and anxiety of this coming event. I think new technologies will help ease the transition, and I don't believe the singularity would hit us hard like a brick wall. Kurzweil, the futurist, states that he believes that nano bots would be the first to mark the singularity as they would allow us to connect to the cloud and expand our knowledge. Once this occurs well slowly but at a rate equal to that of the exponential increase of information technology begin to become more non biological. So I believe that the transition will occur over a couple of decades. Hope this was insightful, although I have no proof it will happen like this.
I don't think he's overly optimistic, but excitable. And why not? He sees the advantages that comes with innovation, whether it will transpire exactly how he wants it to, or whether it will be monopolised by the very few, is not really his concern. Regardless of whether he is looking ahead, or drawing on the past, he is very rooted in the present, I'm excited too about where it could take us. Jason silver is inspiration in abundance!
