I haven't see the movie so I don't know the background (maybe they were hired to take him down, idk) but from what I know based on this clip they didn't expect any resistance

This is how I think all my fights will go…then I throw a flailing missed punch and end up grappling while standing up and gagging from cotton mouth after 20 seconds of fighting. Then we shake hands and become friends because we know we can’t fight.

The only choreographing mistake here is the headbutt with the cap on.. That was lame and would not go like that. Otherwise good scene. Always love Jason.

You could learn from this; his first move was to gauge the striking distance to his opponent, the next was to avoid punching the face (bone against bone isn't a good move), he actually went for the best place which, contrary to popular belief isn't the gonads as it takes a while for that pain to kick in, he struck him in the Solar Plexus where the ribcage parts at the bottom

I would have shot this scene completely differently. When he turned the pump back on, he would have had to pour gasoline on the guy, then hold a lighter to him and ask, "Do you know what will happen if I light the lighter now?"
