As an introvert, I felt this. Being asked a lot of personal questions in front of a large group of people, you really start to empathise with Jason in this situation.
And being an introvert like jason if we get overwhelmed by people asking us question while being sounded by uncompassionate extroverts, one thing starts to cross or mind if pushed to the edge..."Can i possibly "disappear" this person?"😉
It was amazing how terrified I was as a lil kid thinking they were in real danger. I honestly believed he was going to attack Hall and pursue the audience at any moment. I was frightened and I do mean genuinely frightened whilst thinking to myself "ARE THEY CRAZY?!... WHAT ARE THEY DOING?!" Childhood well spent!❤
Me to i couldnt believe he didnt kill him. I was so young. Its funny how a childs mind works. But i honestly thought he was in danger as well and Jason was liable to lose it at any moment. Little did i know he was behind that mask trying not to crack up. 😂😂😂
Not enough people in the comments talking about Arsenio's comedic timing in this segment.The joke lines can be written for a skit like this,but the delivery is a whole other thing along with the producer's edit cuts to close up of Jason.The collaborative timing of the entire sketch was masterful...
The whole interview was 100% very social, and they manage to overcome some crucial stuff of Jason character, I glad to say this. He beat me cause neither I am such social like he was in that interview...I believe I have the same characteristics like Jason. I avoid to be social, is ugly for my ID
Cliserio Cruz When Jason drowned his mother found out and blamed the counselors for his death so she started killing the counselors until one of the counselors cut her head off so jason came back to life and started killing for his mother's death. So it was his mother that made him start it all.

Fun fact: Before the show, Hall made the mistake of telling Hodder that he was "deathly afraid" of the Voorhees character. At the end when Hodder jerks Hall towards him, the fear you see on Hall's face is genuine. Also, this video is a gold mine for researching Hodder's Voorhees mannerisms for cosplay purposes. Whoever uploaded this deserves a medal.
@KutWrite Yes, Jason is being played in this interview by Kane Hodder, the same actor who played him in the movie they're promoting here. Unfortunately, since this comment is 7 years old now, I have no idea where i found the story of Hall being genuinely scared of the character, but I do know for certain that that's Kane behind the mask.
Arsenio was and is the very first person who can make jokes of Jason, laugh at Jason and touch him for multiple times and not being killed. Now that's somehting to put on your resume

The best part of that movie is when the guy yells at Jason for knocking over his radio then Jason turns around shows his fucked up face and the guys like "You man, it's cool"

"Underrated" is so over used. In actuality, he was not underrated at all. His show was massively successful and his importance in pop culture and talk show history is widely recognized and acknowledged. And no one calls Arsenio "Hall."

During school nights I used to act like i was going to bed early and I would wait till mom went to bed and I would turn on my tv at low volume so I could watch the Arsenio Hall show 😅....I was huge fan.

I was in ELEMENTARY when this aired. I BEGGED MY GRANDMOTHER to let me stay up to watch this. She DIDN'T but she recorded it for me. When I woke up the next morning I 👀 it while she combed my hair. This was THE BEST. This interview was GENIUS. I was & STILL am a HUGE VOORHEES FAN & Def a Mr. Hall fan 🙌🏾👑🙌🏾
Arsenio admitted later that he was genuinely scared during this entire interview. Paramount Pictures would not let Arsenio meet the guy who plays Jason before the interview. So when Jason came out on stage it was the first time Arsenio meets him. That just made this clip that more memorable.
