#UFC259 Sitting on the couch talking to Coach Javier Mendez. Topics include: - Islam Makhachev’s performance and who is next - Khabib the Coach - Dagestan Culture - Woken up by USADA Business Inquiries: theschmo@delkatalents.com
@@hessjsus383 Conor's striking is probably more advanced tho, but I think Islam would outwrestle him just like Khabib did. Maybe without finishing him, but I think Islam can deal with good strikers pretty good tbh!
@@hessjsus383 lmfao connors gonna be on his back begging for air. He will never fight Islam. He’s gonna get smerked by porier again and he’s probs gonna fight Nate loose and go to boxing.
@@josiahkatomd6149 Father is referring to Khabib's father and so "father's plan" is referring to the style Khabib's father taught all the guys from the Dagestani team. They always call Javier Mendez as Coach, not father.
@@corrosyon I was just referring to the phrase of "father's plan" in the video that was being discussed. That mention of father was specifically about Khabibs dad. That was the only mention of anything related to father in the video so I brought it up.
Fathers plan was Islam becomes champ after khabib clears out 155 steps up to 170 and wins title there and retires - obviously with what happened khabib retired earlier than planned plus friends with usman but Islam becoming champ was all part of fathers plan several years ago
He's a new coach. He's always been a big brother, literally and figuratively, to Islam and other younger guys from his part of the world that train with him over long years. But this is the first time that he's taking on the active role of coach, alongside Javier (sort of taking over his own father's role before him, as both coach and mentor), so, yes, he's excited! Now, it's time for his "little brother" to shine.
@@mr.cannedble9724 If you look at the history of any democratic country which fought for freedom then you will see that in the first place before the revolutionary movement started, one or two people raised their voice. Sooner or later everyone followed it. InshaAllah here too this will happen.
I remember after the press conference stare down khabib came walking backstage just laughing with his team about all the trash talk Conor said, he wasn’t phased at all
@Tito mma is like chest Ortiz nope both izzy and usman have losses. They are way below khabib. Also both of them lost so many rounds too. Whereas khabib barely lost only 1 round in all 29 fights. Khabib is the undisputed 29-0 goat of mma.
But he didn't listen to father. Father's plan was not to stand and strike, it was to grapple and maul. Mendez was telling Khabib to follow father's plan. That's why Khabib got frustrated during his fights: He wanted his corner to give him advice on how to better win the striking, but they just kept telling him to stop striking and follow father's plan.
@@Priceluked its a bad matchup for rda he got beat bad in his prime against khabib who wasn’t in his prime at that time(I know mma math doesn’t work bla bla but you get what am saying)
@@Priceluked the possible opponents for islam:rda, hooker, darioush and tony but i don’t think he will fight darioush because they have the same manager and they would rather not to fight each other
Not undefeated but his single loss was too big of a step up for him at the time. It was poor match making . He was a 23 year old 12-0 fighter with one fight in the UFC whereas Martins was a 27-7, 32 year old.
@@mattscare5328 Khabib had bad luck also with the injuries and the ufc playing with him and giving the title shot to Conor when he was the one who deserved it. Otherwise he should've been the champion since 2015
alot of ufc fighters started out teenage years while dagestans start out as toddlers possibly. also not everyone wants to be a fighter. not long ago people did not know where Dagestan was or have heard. khabib placed the way for his fellow dagestan just like conor did for his teamates
No need to bash every citizen of Dublin. Irish people are great, Conor just acted like a real moron in his interviews and Khabib changed his ‘face’, he humbled him, so now it’s all said and done. Saying Conor didn’t do anything for the people, isn’t true. Conor made the sport very popular, so more people tuned in and the reason Khabib is so popular is because he beat Conor and especially because he took his revenge after their fight. So that’s that.
About Dagestanis' dominant performances in MMA or combat sports in general, not many people will talk about this. Basically there's not much to do there right, so before the booming of MMA scene there, a lot of these young Dagestanis would be involved in foreign wars, or hell, join terror groups just to get out of their villages. Abdulmanap was adamant on not to let any of the kids in his village go down that road so he trained all of them and pushed them to achieve greatness through combat sports competitions. Connor calling Abdulmanap a terrorist was far from the truth. Did he serve in Soviet military? Yes. Was he a proud Russian? Yes. Did he bring the Russian flag into the octagon after Russia annexed Crimea? Yes. But he shouldn't be put in the same sentence with the word "terrorist". That man made sure no Dagestani kid wastes their lives that way. Hence, Dagestani parents' strong support for their kids to train in martial arts as well. Thank you Abdulmanap, may God be with you. Inshallah.
Mr javier is amazing, I'm 60 years old and I never feld love for any caoch in any sport more than for him. I'm so so happy that they made some thing very special with Habib. That record will be never broke by some body for sure. Thank you so much Mr Javier and my allah bless you and keep you healthly
Oliveira would be the only real threat in terms of grappling but we saw him get submitted by Pettis who, if I'm not mistaken, is currently a brown belt in jiu jitsu. While Islam and others may not have degrees in jiu jitsu they do in sambo, wrestling and judo. Being Master of Sports and other degrees. There is really no one who represents a 100% challenge as the dominance of these guys is so great. We already saw what Khabib did to all these black belts and lifelong wrestlers.
You forget one thing: These are the best fighters in the world, everybody can finish anyone. The difference between Islam/Khabib and the other fighter is that there groundgame let look everybody like a beginner... look what khabib done with RDA or Justin...
@@codekama7396 i wrote it because you say pettis finish CO with brown belt. I whatch the fights from these dagestani guys and the only think in my head is, why does it look so easy 😂🤷🏽♂️
@@cuprast2051 Yes, I meant Oliveira represents a supposed threat but he was submitted by a lesser belt than him. In jiu jitsu. An art that focuses purely on the ground. It's a technical issue and in technique the dagestani are killers.
@@codekama7396 yup im sure that islam technique is much better than Oliveirer but thats the fight I want to see for the belt😂😂 its time to stop the Tony fanboys first ;) i think khabib would eat Tony at the ground, so will islam
in Dagestan kids are not on their ipad's or PSP's for 24/7 they start working hard on age 5/6 not only studying/or MMA, they learn how to manage life stuff on young age to become tough they make money on that age..and there are western kids on their couches playing games eating MCdonalds on age 6/7 or even 10 and you asking why are they so good
Fan fact one of Islam meanings in arabic is submission..Edit: “Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity. It is only as regards those who fought against you on account of religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and helped to drive you out, that Allah forbids you to befriend them. And whosoever will befriend them, then such are the Zalimoon (wrong-doers those who disobey Allah).” Muslims were applying total shariah back in midievl times yet till today we have many anciant synagogues and churches (thousands of years old) inside muslim countries not to mention the jews n trinitarians themselves living here..use your little remaining braincells. You r just confusing Islam with these kind of verses in your bible: chronicles: “12And they entred into a covenant to seeke the Lord God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soule: 13That whosoever would not seeke the Lord God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. 14” (not to mention that killing women children..during war is prohibited in Islam read hadith in sahih Bukhari n Muslim)..I meant Makhachev is a submission specialist (arm bar, chockes..) but not the same exact meaning of religious submission: Submission in your own bible: "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord." “I (Jesus) cannot do anything of myself, I judge as I hear. My judgment is honest because I’m not seeking my own will, but the will of him who sent me.” (total submission to God= Islam) “None of those who calls me LORD will enter the kingdom of God. But only the one who does the will of my father.” "You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him."
Aljo used too much energy in the stand up so wasnt strong enough on the ground. Plus Yan aint no punk. Unfortunatly he punked himself out of the title😂🤪😅
Islam has one loss , Whats in the Water in Dagastan its Discipline. Javier is such a nice guy but hes got a mean streak dont owe him any money he will flip the scrip on that ass..
Tony v Islam *needs* to happen. But Tony needs to win a fight before he fights Islam, to get him back in his 'groove'. So for the moment RDA v Islam seems the best way forward, as there is also a little history between them.
Coach so honest haha . Yes looks like Islam a better listener. And he seems like someone who can reason with. Khabib maybe because he’s just reckless in fight. Islam someone who follow the plan .
