I want you to be able to create a Jaw-dropping Wonder Woman Costume and a good Gold Eagle Helmet is a key part of that! Normally, this build would be super intimidating to try and make on your own but I have done all the hard work for you of creating a pattern that will make it super easy for you to create a spot-on 1984 Wonder Woman Gold Eagle Helmet using EVA Foam. Simply print out the pattern trace it onto EVA Foam cut it out and glue it together and you will have a helmet that looks just like the one I made here. In the video, I will walk you through the whole process and provide you with a list of all the tools and materials you need to make it!
This helmet is so realistic because of Two Main Secrets:
1. In order to make a realistic-looking helmet like this out of foam the foam needs to be thin but hold its shape really well so that it is sturdy. The only foam that lets you do that is my What The Foam (WTF) specially formulated to use for cosplay. It is thin but sturdy, smooth, and cuts super clean. You can get it on Amazon right here: amzn.to/2WoFEVT
2. Is the Cos-Tools straight cutter, it helps you get perfect 90-degree cuts so that your seams will line up perfectly and disappear to create a smooth helmet!

What a creative use of Fine Finish! It’s not just for butter-smooth finishes anymore! Great job on the entire helmet!!

Thanks!! I was trying to figure out how to get that texture and I didn't want to try and cover it in fabric or anything and then I thought of that idea and worked out sooo cool and had kind of an orga if feel to it :). I'm so excited about how the helmet came together! :)

What kind of glue are you using? Articles and videos have recommended contact cement, but I've found that hard to work with... I have to hold it a long time to set. Thanks!
@CosplayApprentice
@CosplayApprentice 2 года назад
I am using dap Weldwood contact cement. With contact cement you have to apply a thin layer to both side you are gluing together and then let it set up for 5mins or so before trying to stick them together. Youll know it's ready to stick together when you tap the glue with your finger and it makes the sound of walking on a sticky floor but no glue comes off on your finger. Then stick them together and they will adhere on contact :)

Awesome! Just wanted to ask.. could the size be altered to fit on an actual motorcycle helmet?
@CosplayApprentice
@CosplayApprentice 3 года назад
I love that idea! That would be so cool!!! Yes, here is a video on scaling patterns ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2hAg5d16iNQ.html and on my website I have a pattern scaling calculator, you can just measure the circumference of the helmet and then scale it up proportionally to fit the helmet! If you do this please tag me in any pictures of it on Instagram it sounds so cool!!

Do you recommend using the high density Eva foam to pad down the inside of a helmet? I made a dilopholosaurous head set for my son but it needs more comfort on the inside. I was thinking of using this type of foam from r the padding but I've never worked with it before. What do you think?
@CosplayApprentice
@CosplayApprentice 2 года назад
For padding out a helmet I might use something a little bit softer and not as high density. EVA foam works great but I would look for one that has more squish to it. You could use foam floor mat tiles from harbor freight. Or you could go with something other than Eva foam and just use an upholstery foam from Home Depot. They have some in a couple different thicknesses and sizes for a decent price and that would be really squishy padding for a helmet. :)

Just curious, your pattern says make 2 of piece A. But I'm just a tad confused on what to do with them. I understand one of them is for the grid part under the top, but what do I do for the 2nd one?
@CosplayApprentice
@CosplayApprentice 3 года назад
You know what, I just looked at it, that is a great catch!! I think I had that separated into two symmetrical pieces that would need to get glued together but then once I connected them together I think I forgot to remove the label saying to do two of them. You only need one A piece. :) Thank you for catching that! I'll need to adjust that so no one else runs into that same problem :)
