Nice video Shallu. I had a chance to also ride my friend's bobber 42 extensively and most of the points in the video are spot on. The reason she bought the 42 is because she's very short (just around 5ft maybe lower) and wanted a decent amount of power at a budget. This left her with the Bobber 42 as pretty much the only option. As you already know, I'm in unique position of also knowing how the RS is and I'm gonna give my frank opinion about these bikes. The CB350RS is a much much more mature bike with way better QC than the 42. The new Jawa bikes in general are much more powerful bikes, giving you more "bang for your buck" in terms of just raw power outputs at a lower cost. However, in the longer term, I'd personally be choosing the Honda simply cause after the honeymoon period fades with both the bikes, you start realising their faults and issues. The Honda as you know is a Honda, it's a hassle free ownership and the bike will run like butter from its first day to the end of existence, i just can't trust Jawa to do the same. I hope by the end of 2023 Jawa managed to get their QC issues sorted, otherwise Deepak is gonna have an annoying ownership experience. Three friends of mine who own all own Jawas (adventure, scrambler and a 42), all have some minor issue or the other with their bikes. Two of them have started to get tiny white dots on their instrument cluster, which while not totally hindering the display, it does feel annoying and bad, especially after spending almost 3 lakhs. Jawa says its covered under warranty and it will get replaced for free, however it's been months and they say they don't have the unit in stock. The rear brakes often require replacement very soon, i think this may be due to the spongy braking performance resulting in the rider pressing it harder. Lack of TC + more power + lower weight on the rear tyre on the 42 means Deepak will have to learn how to modulate the throttle (which is a skill every rider should know anyway). Otherwise, he will end up losing control and/or falling, especially on wet roads with muck. (I'd recommend riding in rain mode during the rains as it actually saves you). In my experience with the Bobber and the roads of Mumbai, i managed to scrape the underside of the bike more than 50 times in the span of a couple hours due to potholes and speed breaker. I had to ride sideways across speed breakers to prevent the bike bottoming out. As you said, the seat comfort isn't great and for me personally, my lower and mid back start hurting after just 20-30 mins (your experience may vary as I'm unfit so that could be speeding up the discomfort). Also, the radiator while looking great does get loud and annoying after a while. It shoots out heat directly on your leg. This may not affect Mr. Deepak right now as its the winter season and maybe you guys dont have as bad traffic as we do here in Mumbai. But over here the bikes get hot and loud, the radiator fans sound louder than the exhaust and your right leg gets cooked in bumper to bumper traffic. Some other minor issues are the rear indicators breaking/falling off and the rear numberplate getting bent cause people keep crashing from behind, the bike's idle choppy so it sounds like the bike is struggling to stay alive at lower rpms and sometimes it even turns off, the switch gear buttons start sticking (especially the hazard light switch) during the rainy season and the false neutral issue that you saw at the start of your ride. Don't get me wrong it is not a terrible bike, these are all minor niggles that i feel everyone should be aware of when buying the 42 or any other Jawa bike in my opinion. There's a lot of pros too, the biggest one being road presence. When you ride the Bobber you know you are unique and everyone's approving looks make you feel great. The power, it's intoxicating, you can keep up with bigger bikes upto 80 - 100 without feeling like you're on a lower cc bike. People will always approach you to talk about it and many even assume it's of a higher cc and value it over double the price sometimes. At the end of the day, the Jawa 42 is a great bike that works great for city use, better for highway use and can occasionally be used for small, short trips without discomfort. My friend says eventually you get used to the bike and you can do longer trips, however even she doesn't recommend it. Congratulations to Deepak and i hope this small review of mine doesn't offend him or reduce the enjoyment of his bike, at the end of the day, its how your bike makes you feel :)

Gosh, Gavin. Such an extensive review. Thank you🖤 I sort of agree with everything you mentioned, and I realised while editing the video that I was a little biased due to the raw power 42 offered, something I miss on the Honda. You know me, if I were to actually purchase one of the two, I’d go with the Honda any day 😀

Bro as a brother can you suggest me a bike between honda 350 rs or cb 300r or Triumph speed 400....in all rounder prospective (good mileage, looks, onroad and off-road capability, reliability) and if you had other better option in your mind you also suggest me. Thankyou ❤

Baba, at 5’7 I will not recommend the Honda CB350RS. CB300R is a good looking top-class reliable machine, but it has a small frame, with a pillion it will be congested. Triumph Speed - don’t buy, baba. Go with the Triumph Scrambler X (much better than Speed 400) BMW 310GS will also be a good option for the usability you defined.

I owned yezdi scrambler which we all know is under classic legends jawa yezdi same showroom.. My advice would be dont buy jawa or yezdi!! I owned it for 1 year 10 months . And was HAPPY JUST 2 days with my bike the day i bought it and the day i sold it.. Commendable in looks and equally irritating in terms of refinement of engine ,heating ,service experience , noise from radiator fan , fit and finish.. Only good thing is that it has power whoch you get with lots of vibrations !!!
