Tic Tac Tic tac...como un puto reloj. Siempre da la nota a la hora. The rest are not as tight but he was there to remind them what timing and accuracy was.

It sounds corny to say, but I can still remember vividly the moment when I found out that Jawbox broke up - what a terrible thing! Jawbox's last two full lengths = perfection.
I first heard these guys thanks to Beavis & Butthead around 94'. I was in eighth grade and bought FYOSS immediately. 23 years later and this band is still very relevant. B&B actually introduced me to other great indie bands such as Archers of Loaf, Superchunk, Seaweed, The Meices, etc. This was also when MTV was at its prime.
Played there the same year. Employees enjoyed it so much they invited us all to an after hours party around the block. Place was the size of a bedroom.
GAWD-DAMN!! For those of you who may be fellow music heads, but don't yet own their record "For Your Own Special Sweetheart"... PLEASE!!! Get a copy, camp out with some headphones and let this whole record take you there...
MattGurley, FYOSS was easily the best record that came out in 1994. Next, would probably be Archers of Loaf 'Vee Vee'. I bought FYOSS a few months after it came out (I was in 8th grade) and the opening track (FF=66) is like 500 centaurs storming through a village and setting fire to everything. J. Robbins is a fucking beast. Also, (and you might know this already), J also was the frontman for a few other bands post-Jawbox including Burning Airlines, Channels, and Office of Future Plans. Definetely worth checking out.
@@JayaKesavaD Have tickets to see them in Dublin next year, rescheduled twice haha. Hope you get to see them bud! Bill Barbot just left the band but Brooks Harlan, his replacement, is pretty fucking good so I have high hopes.
I sustained permanent hearing loss (just kidding) and perpetual head slamming motion after seeing this remarkable band back in the day!! Love these guys!
As well as Spoiler.. This was 95 and that album didn't come out until a year later, so they were probably still working out lyrics and song structure while on the road prior to recording. He even says in the video that they will be recording an LP next July. So this was over a year prior, which means those songs are still being "written". Saw them in Gainesville a month ago. Kind of bothered me that Savory is the only song a lot of people know. Even now. Was it in American Pie or something?
