I think I once put it as “Not every game is a 3 course meal. It’s ok to snack on a bag of chips.” This feels like that for me. It’s brief and simple, but still a lot of fun.

@@CosmicCosmo1 I’ve beaten it without the surface hack and it’s really not much more difficult. Just requires leveling up once more and finding the submarine. You still hang by the surface and just dip around Jaws.

I’m trying to be as fair as I can evaluating these games. Some other have gotten a bad rep from AVGN (Bayou Billy comes to mind) despite not deserving it. Others like Back to the Future absolutely do. I always found this one fun. And glad you’re enjoying! More to come.

Really enjoyable and not a big time commitment

I always felt the same way. I replayed it so many times as a kid. Isn’t that the mark of a good game? If you have bells and whistles but aren’t fun, what’s the point?

So I’ve never played that one but I tried it recently at someone else’s recommendation. It hooked me immediately but I’m still figuring out what to do. Trying to work through it without any guides first. Bit of a longer game from what I can tell.

I need to take this approach sometime. Is there a power level cap that you’ve found?

@@retronate To my knowledge, not from my play throughs. The hardest part is the grinding. It can get mind-numbing, but if you can power through it, and go for the completionist deal, you'll feel way more accomplished, just like in childhood. I remember the first game I ever played that had a timer or clock in it, was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time, for the SNES. It told me how long I took to beat it, and it was always around a little more than 30 minutes. I played JAWS more like an RPG, because it had that whole random encounter thing like in a lot of old turn-based RPGs.

At some point. That’s one I have little experience with and have to put in some practice time.

Is that truly considered a glitch? It didn’t feel like I was manipulating anything within the code of the game. I certainly could see the argument but this didn’t feel “glitchy” to me. Just a strat. I suppose that like is shades of gray.
