its only water. a bit shallow depending on where you wipeout. gotta hold ur breathe & stay calm and relaxed. usually lasts about 1 1/2 minutes. aloha.

the barrel at 4.20 is f**ken amazing big props to the guy who pulled that one. Much respect to all big wave surfers

God dam big ass waves I just got back from Maui and while I was there went over to Lanai and some of the biggest waves I've seen. Jaws is just crazy.

@Lineageeeee they get ragdolled for a couple minutes & most times for 2 or 3 waves. but amazing what we humans can handle under the right amount of pressure. aloha

Dumb question but how do they keep from slipping of the boards? Seems like when the waves crash down that they should be swept off the board. Also about how fast do they go on a surfboard?

I think those boys are strapped. Lol. They're going faster than most city buses, that's for sure.

good video. i witnessed this as a tourist. Crazy awesome shit.. I tried surfing when i was a tourist down there. My wife did better cause she was lighter and the waves were small. It's like golf in a way. Gotta try it to appreciate it. I wish i were these guys. I tried it once and I was hooked. Wish I lived there. I can ski though.

Whoa, Kapalua is on the other side of the island. I'd say it's about 30 minutes or so from the airport driving the opposite direction of Kapalua, haha! Good luck getting there cuz more rich guys are migrating over & buying up the land here.
