Thank you for your wonderful chat. I can't express how soothing is to listen to you and I wish you have longer episodes. I am so so happy for my dear friend Ally aka fiberbound winning the kit as I can see her in those colours and they are totally Ally. Can't wait to see the shrug she creates.
Thank you Jackie and Sally - lovely to hear both of you express your joy of making! A Wink will be on my needles in the next days - but first I have some serious color choices to make . . .
In order to thrive this season I really need to slow down and take in the beautiful fall season, which is my favorite. I have purposefully planted trees and bushes that give me wonderful fall colors. The sunlight brightens my day, the crisp air can be invigorating. I need to listen to my senses to appreciate the changes in the environment. Plus, it is now sweater weather ! 😊
Love your podcast. You are so blessed to have your Mom. I lost mine many years ago. I’m thriving by learning so much even at my age of almost 62. Thank you! I love listening to you read. Your voice is so calming
I am up early before the rest of the family, having my coffee and knitting. I love spending this time with you and Sally. It feels like a conversation and you both are sharing so much of yourselves. I couldn’t ask for a better start to my day. ❤
I love all of your videos but this one is my favorite I think because I enjoy watching you and your mom interact. My mom has been gone for 26 yrs and my sis 5 yrs and they were two of the most creative, loving women that I miss so much. My mom sewed and crocheted and could tackle any project she wished to do either it be a craft or a home decor project. My sis was a quilter, crocheter and knitter and had such a beautiful spirit! I have not knitted, or quilted much but maybe someday I will. Your videos remind me how I need to be “making” something again as it makes me so happy. I may try a shrug as a possible “try” at knitting again. I love the sound of the knitting needles as they bring together the yarns into beautiful works that can be worn. Love the work you two ladies have done and thank you for sharing not just your projects but your beautiful souls for us all to see! Big hugs and take care!
@@candytuft4254 There is no replacing your mom, your sister, but so glad to be a door to invite them in today and as you make and listen for the melody of their memory in your heart. Wishing you beauty, love, and the song of family that sings us while we’re here and goes on singing us long after. Much love.
Thank you both, for this beautiful episode. I recently lost my mother, and to be able to enjoy a close family connection like yours definitely brought me some comfort. Thank you.
Oh my goodness, how beautiful it is to see you thriving! This was all such a treat, and it's so good to see Sally--the 100 Day quilt projects look so incredible! I can see why Sally has been such an amazing and lifelong inspiration to your family; being surrounded by an artist and her art every day, for all your life, is a wonderful gift. xoxo
Aw hi Sally, so good to see you you look fab, i hope you feel as good. Gorgeous knits again Jackie. Loving hearing what happening with your family. Much love xxx
Thank you for a beautiful podcast. I loved your story about the dad and his daughter at the park. I lost my 26 yr old son 5 weeks ago to sepsis and I’m struggling to breathe. Enjoy every day with your children young or older, what gifts of joy we are blessed with our children.
Julie my heart feels so broken for you. Thank you for sharing your loss with us. Know that all of us are wrapping you in our love to try to help with the breathing through this time. There is nothing in this world that can prepare you for this unbearable kind of heartache. It’s the eternal mother’s plea take me not him. And yes what you said about holding our dear ones precious in the every day is well taken. My love to you and your family. If there is anything we as a collective community can do for you please know we are here. ❤
Such unrestrained, unabashed love. So wonderful to see you two so freely reveling in the joy of making, sharing, and being in community. So much eye candy as well, between Sally’s quilting and the many many gorgeous knits, what an absolute treat to speed my evening with you two!
I looove hearing your Rhinebeck adventures and I also love when you podcast with your beautiful mom. I love her energy, the bond that you both have and of course seeing her quilts. What a wonderful episode 💗🥰💖
Thank you for this time today. I loved spending it with you and your mom. So special. I'm starting my second shrug this weekend - it's so satisfying as a quiet knit. 💕 Safe travels.
I cannot tell you how much my soul needed this. My mom and I live together as we raise my little boy. Family is the most precious thing we have in this world. And the ability to step back and step into the moment while releasing the ego is so important. I love creating. I love that he takes his toys and pretends to sew and knit. I’ve just come to accept that I’m a highly sensitive person and cannot live life like media tells us we should. Many blessings of peace and beautiful to your lovely family. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Sally, you quilt is exquisite!! What a treasure….. thanks Jackie for again a lovely, delicious podcast! Love the inter-generational interaction. Both quilts are lovely, but I prefer the not totally square quilt. I also have a quilt made by my Grandma that was done using my Mom and Aunts clothes. What a treasure!
How might I thrive this season? Having a beautiful fall season here in Alaska I have nurtured the art of seeing everything as if it’s the first time. When I take walks I look at every leaf, branch, rock, the colors and take in all the smells swirling around( lately its been the wonderful smell of the woodstove), feeling the crisp air on my face and the feeling like Im getting a warm hug with my mittens and scarves on. It honestly puts a tear in my eyes when I slow down and see all the beauty because it truly is the first time everytime. ❤
Have always enjoyed the inspired creativity you bring to each episode, but my hands-down favorites are the ones with you and your mom. Viewers get to watch the generational thread of care and respect between the two of you. It's a joy to watch.
Hi from nz. When my sister and I were young. Our mum came home with hollie hobbie corduroy fabric and a matching t shirts. This is the first time I have another person to remember hollie hobbie. Such a great memory for me.
I've missed seeing your podcast. Peace Fleece is one of my favorite yarns too! I absolutely love the 100 Day Quilts Sally, especially the first one with the beige backing. All of your quilts are beautiful. ❤
So good to see both of you! I love Purl Soho too… beautiful yarn.. I’m on my third half & half shawl with linen quill! I hope to thrive with my knitting this next year…so many projects and not enough time!
I love Soutache so much! I was there once right after Covid and didn’t have much time to browse. I did purchase a beautiful pin. Only wish there were items available online. I don’t get back to Chicago much. Currently in NC.
Thank you both for sharing your hearts, your artistic gifts and adventures. This video is an invitation to creative exploration and expression; a celebration of love and communion. I know I’ll return to this many times like a creative compass pointing northward. It brings to mind this from C.S. Lewis, “I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now...Come further up, come further in!”
It’s been so wonderful to spend some inspiring time with you both and so wonderful to see Sally again! There is so much love in this episode! Also, I am so excited that I won the KFO kit and am so grateful to you for the amazing colours you selected, they are perfect for me and I can’t wait to knit your beautiful shrug with them! I will contact you on Insta to give you my details ☺️ Wishing you safe travels and happy knitting beautiful lady!
