This is pretty old video, from a few years ago. I realized I hadn't uploaded it here. This was one of my first banjo builds and I still really like the look of it.
the only thing I really did is make the dowel stick go all the way through the can and butt up against the bottom. That way the dowel stick absorbs most of the tension. Then can might krinkle a little near the bridge but that's as far as it'll go
@@bengrecoThanks. I used a threaded rod with a big washer and a nut inside butted up against the bottom, which if anything is a little larger than the end of a dowel stick. I guess my can might have just been flimsy or I rocked out too hard.
thanks! This has actually been sitting up in a barn for the past couple years, I'm gonna be back in my hometown soon and will probably pull it out and see if I can get it up and running again
