A little belated, but here's my homage to the one measly (yet stunning, perfect, you know I loved it) scene of Upstead in the Season 7 finale. I know the season was cut short thanks to the virus, but oh OH...how the writers OWE us next season.
To be fair, in the context of Jay Halstead, that one scene was pretty important. First, there's the parallel to him losing Erin as his partner/love to the Feds. Then the fact that he was brave and open enough to ASK Hailey if she was coming back. Hello character development. And his little smile when she said she missed him. My heart. #letJaybehappy #please

A relationship between Jay and Hailey would make so much sense. They're both detectives and understand the job and what it takes to get things done. They both have been through similar things as well. Let Jay have a relationship that actually last !!!!!

Gah, I LOVE them and I love this video! Upstead videos are the only thing helping me get through this hiatus (especially after being robbed of their rightful reunion due to that stupid bug) and I can't wait to see what happens next with them. They're both SO READY now!! =)

I knew if I came here I'd probably find some fans that might be able to help me out hopefully...I just started watching this show a couple of weeks ago on Hulu..the 1st year it was on I watched the 1st couple of episodes but it was on when two other shows were on that I watched so I never got into it again or any of the Chicago shows... I really like the other couple a lot as well but these 2 intrigued me can anyone please give me a rundown of which episodes of each season that would be good episodes to watch these two and their particular relationship grow? Like the BEST episodes? I've been trying to find something online but haven't been successful...thx

I don't think he loved Erin more, actually about Erin and Jay's relationship, they started flirting each other since season 1 so definitely, they had not a real friendship since the beginning of their relationship, then they started a love story which was hard to keep stable because of Erin who preferred to not disobey Hank rather than save her love relationship with Jay. Plus later, she constantly had her issues with her mom, her issues after Nadia's death, with her half brother, and also her disagreements with Jay while she searched her dad's identity .. a lot of things, was about Erin, Jay was just the kind of fictional character who was trying to comfort and helping her. Since Erin's departure, the series focused more on Jay and finally his issues about war, Hailey is the first who figures out the matter of the problem and solved his deep inside anger and pain about war, she have this sens of instinct especially about Jay, she can feel when something goes wrong with him, their connection is deep and real, contrary to Erin and Jay's relationship and yet Hailey and Jay are not for now in a couple so imagine what their future love story will be, definitely much much much better than Linstead relationship ... If you don't imagine a love story between them it's normal because Hailey and jay chose to not show their interest for each other, they chose to keep safe their good partnership, they probably don't want destroy the good relationship that they built since season 5. but when they'll understand that they made for each other and that their relationship is strong, they definitely will be a good pair and a lovely strong couple in the unit. #UPSTEAD⭐️❤️

Jay definitely didn't love Erin more. Jay loves Hailey completely and more than he ever 'loved' Erin. if you watch the show and are not blind that is something that is extremely clear.

absolutely not, Lindsay is not good for Jay at all, she had more chemistry with hank than with Jay, Jay and Hailey have more chemistry and are sooooo good together, she is definitely his soulmate #UPSTEAD

I disagree, I think Hailey en Jay are much better. They have chemistry and they talk about their insecurities and personal things. And about the war that Jay was in. And I can’t remember a scene from Jay and Erin where they talk about the war. And even when Hailey was together with Adam she turned to Jay when she was not feeling well or wanted to be alone. So Hailey is much better. But that’s my opinion

If Jay is forever Lindsay's love the where's Lindsay lo? You all say Linstead forever, well it crashed and burned. Hailey is so much better than Lindsay and better for Jay. Upstead is so much better than Linstead. They have chemistry and they actually talk and have meaningful conversations. Jay has told Hailey a lot more about war and his personal problems than Erin. Linstead was all physical, toxic, unequal and unhealthy.
